Ministry have a "Wargasm"

2018-01-26 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 43 Comments
Ministry have released the second track from their upcoming album AmeriKKKant, which is due for release 9 March 2018 via Nuclear Blast.

"Wargasm" continues the return to the sample-heavy industrial sound that exemplified Ministry's rise during the 1990s, complete with chainsaw guitars and hints of thrash metal that would eventually dominate their sound in the turn of the century.

Their last 2 'revival' albums were pretty bad but this one I'm legit excited for.

Yeah I really like Twitch-Psalm 69 and Filth Pig is decent

If it was a cover of the L7 song I might be bothered to listen.

Seriously, had this band put out anything decent post Psalm 69?

They actually have... if you like weird ass experimental music that is. Filth Pig and Dark Side have some extremely unique stuff, and Animositisomina is mad underrated. Some of their most hypnotic shit ever is on that record. Most people trash everything post Psalm 69 but they actually have made some gems. Not many recently though.

Filth Pig is great. Just not as great as the 3 albums before it.

Filth Pig is their best imo. But I get why it's not for most people. It's not a pleasant listen exactly. It's kind of like taking a radioactive sludge bath.

Pretty much. The Last Sucker really should have been the the last sucker, Al and Bush should have gone off into the sunset together, it just felt right and poetic. I guess the easy-pickings of Trump were too tantalizing to resist though. Tbf though these 2 new songs sound nothing like Rio Grande Blood era stuff which is nice.

The big thing I've noticed is that it seems like it's trying to recapture the sort of sound they had in the 90s. Al can seem fairly well spoken on some issues though, like his video talking about the #MeToo campaign.

I didn't see that video. This definitely is trying to recapture something from the 90's though and I love it. I'm just super glad they're moving away from the sound they started on Houses Of The Mole through The Last Sucker. I'm super burned out on that sound, fun as it was at times. This feels refreshing to me. Guess everyone hates it though, lol. Well, feck you guys.

This song is nothing to be ashamed of.
Especially when we're talking about post "from beer to eternity" "relapse" Ministry.

Fear Factory looks very dead and buried right now.

Why do you say that? The Fear Factory part I mean. This is like the third or fourth time Bell has appeared on a Ministry track, they seem to have a good relationship. I love his part in this song/video, he looks menacing as fuck in that makeup! This song is a blast, glad someone else liked it other than me, that's nice.

I talked about Fear Factory because they were supposed to release a new album last year. Instead Dino Cazares suddenly announced a solo album, Christian Older Wolbers attacked them by saying the band had split, Dino denied but not Burton. Now in 2018, still no news from the band, no new announcement and Burton appears in the new ministry video.
I'm not making a statement, I'm just saying "I've got a bad feeling about this."

artiswar

I didn't know about that. I love Fear Factory but I don't mind waiting. Last album was a good one to go out on if it's their last. I just heard that Acension of Watchers finished recording a new album, so at least we'll get more from Bell soon.

Yeah, Genexus was perfect, and I don't mind waiting either. But Dino announced that he had written enough tracks at the end of 2016 for a new album to come out by the end of 2017, then no news and then he announces a solo album. That's bad.
