Michael Bohn leaves (?) Issues2018-01-10 by SweeneyTodd | 19 Comments
|Michael Bohn is no longer a part of Issues, although it is as of yet unclear whether he was fired or left of his own valition. The bands statement reads as though he was let go amicably due to creative differences, but statements from Michael himself and others seem to suggest he was forced out for the same reasons.|
"To our amazing fans and Hooligans around the world, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the departure of Michael Bohn. We are all aware of how the internet rumor machine tends to spin it’s web, but the whole truth behind this amicable yet difficult decision to part is that our band is developing musically in a direction that put us at odds with each other creatively. Though sometimes beautiful in it's contrast, the bigger picture began to be artistically irreconcilable.
Some of you may know that we as a band are always writing. The past year has been a lot of trial and error with new material, but the demos from these sessions are, in our opinion, undeniable in their potential, and are some of our favorite songs Issues have ever written. We found that many of the risks we wanted to take were in turn at risk of being "watered down” to make them compatible with everyone's tastes and abilities. The quality and sincerity of our art is paramount, so we had to do a lot of soul searching to come to a conclusion that was best for all of us, the entity of Issues, and the music.
Just to make things absolutely clear: This was OUR decision as a band. No label or suit b-s. This is NOT a move to become a bubblegum pop act. We’re going to continue to do what we always have done, and write exactly what we want. We will continue to play older material and will delegate screaming parts live. Lastly, we have no current plans of adding core members to Issues.
We love Michael and the experiences we shared in Issues will forever be irreplaceable. We wish him the absolute best with his future endeavors, and he will always have our undying support within his musical career. We believe he will continue to be a voice for the fans, and prosper in his next journey."
"Well, here I am typing up a statement I never thought I'd have to type. There's so much I could say but I'm gonna do my best to keep it short and to the point. First off, I want to make it clear that I did not leave ISSUES. It was brought to my attention that the band wanted to go in a different direction and that they would be moving on without me. As devastating as this news was and has been these past couple months, I am excited for what the future holds. I am teaming up with Kevin Hanson (ex Woe, Is Me) for my new project. We have been writing for a little over a month and I have no plans on quitting music.
As for the fans, I cannot thank you enough for the love and support. So much respect to every fan around the world. You have made my time in ISSUES a dream come true. I've been to places I only dreamed about as a kid and couldn't even fathom that I'd go. I have made countless memories in that band that will stay with me forever and learned a lot about life, people, and music. I truly hate that my time has come to an end in ISSUES but I'm going to make the best of it. Sorry we made you guys wait and wonder what's going on but we wanted to be as professional as possible about this. Here's to making the most of 2018! Much love, Michael Bohn"
Whether he was forced out amicably or not remains to be solved, but it is clear he is no longer a part of the band, and no longer working with Tyler Carter, who he has been performing with for many years in various bands/projects. Issues are currently recording their 3rd studio album, set for release later this year.

Always liked his vocals but they were probably really overproduced. First Woe, is Me album will always be a banger.
Tyler Carter wants dat spotlight.
Can't wait for Woe is Issues part 3
Digging: Escape the Fate - I Am Human
I GUESS THEY ARE HAVING ISSUES
as an ashamed "fan" of this band, I gotta say, my interest in their next LP is waning. Michael for me was one of the main reasons I enjoyed their last album, and certainly one of the ONLY reasons I enjoyed their debut. i'll wait and see before i pass judgement but i reckon issues LP 3 is gonna be a snoozer for me
Digging: Breaking Benjamin - Ember
In the entire incarnation of Bohn/Carter's music and bands started from their endeavors, they've come up with like 2 good songs.
Woe, Is Me has always been and will always be garbage tho
Digging: The Devin Townsend Band - Accelerated Evolution
That guy who did clean vocals on the last woe is me album was fantastic tbh.
I think the singer himself was good but the album was shit and I even thought so back in 2012 when I liked that kind of music
Austin Thorton is rubbing his hands together somewhere right now
The first Issues album is the shit, fuck what anyone says
But the contrast between Michael and Tyler was the main appeal of the band for me... and they kind if lose that now by kicking him out
Digging: Three 6 Mafia - Mystic Stylez
Stingray Affliction and Hooligans are such a goat tunes fr
Michael was my favorite part about them tbh
Digging: Palm Reader - Braille
Woe Is Me and Issues are both fun bands, but the contrast between Michael and Tyler is what made Issues's second album such an excellent effort. They better bring their A game for their third album or else people are just gonna write this band off.
I didn't dig the lastest one at all outside of The Realest
he had a good scream on the CD fuck
They'll get bigger than ever, but I'm not that interested.,
Digging: The Wonder Years - Sister Cities
hey look it's another band trying to do a bring me the horizon
every time I've seen issues live michael was drunk/high and sounded horrific so can't say I'm all that sad about it.
this band has some real.... issues ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
