They did it exactly the same as the original, so it turned out fine....it's just kind of pointless.

Still, I'd rather they played it straight and ended up with something bland than trying to change it and butchering it like Disturbed did with The Sound of Silence.

Good cover, don't hate it just because it comes from them.

You know what's funny about most Sputnik users? When it comes to hating a band based on a bad album like 'Hail to the King' they'd be entirely justified. But when that band releases an album that's actually excellent on its own merits, they still don't want to accept it and still hate on them. So it makes me wonder if those particular users even care about the quality of music or they just hate on a band because they thing it's"cool" to do so.

And in the case of the latter, when it comes to them reacting like over sensitive babies and get totally offended by this with "waaaa this song shouldn't be touched" or "band is poo", you really need to grow up or pull your head out of your ass. Even Guns N' Roses covered this song recently live along with Black Hole Sun and The Seeker. By that logic should they not have been allowed to cover those songs just because they're popular tunes?

But I'll still give you the benefit of the doubt that you might be right on this still. Somebody do explain why, with a full disclosure of reasonable evidence and creditable sources of reference, why exactly this cover is bad despite being well performed and executed, or why this band should not be allowed to do covers like Pink Floyd and Mr Bungle. And also why exactly they are so terrible just because of one or two bad albums against five other good ones.

The instrumentals aren't bad. I really dislike the singer's voice, though it's not as bad here as it is on their actual albums where he tries going high and gets nasally as shit. He just has a weird tone to his voice that's uniquely shitty. There is no reason to listen to this cover over the original.

I thought it sounded pretty good, and the video was nice. Never really listened to this band aside from singles I have heard at one time or another.

Band is poo because of M. Shadows. I wish he and The Rev would trade places (wherever The Rev may be). Their first 2 albums were pretty good back in the day, and the third one is also quite ok (except for Seize the Day, f*ck that song).
