Turnover premiere "Super Natural" single

2017-06-21 by ian b. | 28 Comments
Virginia Beach former pop punkers turned dream pop outfit Turnover have dropped a new single entitled "Super Natural" from the new album titled Good Nature that will drop on Run For Cover Records on August 25, 2017. This would be the bands' first release since 2015's well received Peripheral Vision that saw them shed a lot of their pop punk stylings for a more dream pop and emo oriented sound. From the new single, the band have seemed to take the next natural progression in heading toward an even more dream pop oriented sound, shedding off a lot of their emo influence as well.

As far as lead singles go it's not super grabby, but I'm still in love with their sound. I don't think peripheral vision was necessarily made up of show stoppers per say, but the consistent quality and mood of the album made it special and I'm hoping that's the case here as well.

sounds like Real Estate or Beach Fossils with Austin at the helm tbh. wonder if Eric stayed on for the recording process or if they waited until after to announce his departure, as his leads are usually more interesting than this. but they did release Humming first off Peripheral Vision, one of the best tracks, but definitely one of the poppiest and most upbeat. may be the case here again, just not as good

All the current pop-punk bands have gone from a tr00 really srs sound to this dream pop sound. New Story So Far will washed in reverb /10
Title Fight did it best but this is whatever.

pretty sure eric was involved in the recording process from what I've heard

I think this will still be a good record, I don't think it will touch Peripheral Vision, but that was a once in a career album for a band.

yeah this is definitely disappointing. sounds like all the other snoozefest dream pop ever created. gonna have to lower expectations by not comparing this to PV tho.

I have high hopes for the new album and this track did nothing to dampen said hopes.

Sounds nice. Hoping as a whole and in the context of the album this song will sound "stronger" though.

Curious to hear the whole album, I enjoyed Peripheral Vision a lot. This might be the worst music video I've ever seen though. Kinda makes me want to puke.

Yea visually it doesn't really compliment the music at all and is trying to give me vertigo.

Song is pretty dull, doesn't' touch the greatness that was Peripheral Vision. Still looking forward to the record tho

Love the vibe, but the lyrics aren't the best. Not mindblowing, but it's enough to get me pumped for the new record.

didn't leave much of an impact, definitely sounding more like real estate with the production (not as soft and warm as peripheral) which isn't my thing but hopefully the record will still be excellent
