Well at least it'll have good production.
hope to be a decent album at least
Well I'd have to say that's probably down to the band themselves considering the work Terry Date normally does.
Implode actually sounds nice.
Maybe this won't be shit.
Senility can be an ugly thing.
Digging: Musmahhu - Reign of the Odious
Slayer has never had good production. Why would you expect this to be any different?
Reign in Blood had awesome production though, it holds up better than other thrash albums from 86.
Rick Rubin used to be a good producer like 30 years ago but has deteriorated a lot over time. I was hoping that with a new producer for the first time in Terry Date (who has a proven track record of great producing with bands like Deftones), they'd have a well produced album but obviously if you're a band the size of Slayer you can overrule the producer in certain aspects.
Also apparently the album version of Implode will be re-recorded so I suspect that the version that was released was a much rougher mix.
Hopefully this will be decent.
lol who cares about the production when both songs they released so far were complete shit
Wont even bother with this
Apparently if you have the 45rpm vinyl of When The Stillness Comes and play it on your record player at 33rpm it sounds much better, like a doom metal song.
implode is pretty bad but i liked When the Stillness Comes
New songs weren't bad but no Dave or Jeff makes me sad, also wtf that release date.
Digging: Foals - Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost - Part 1
Well this summer is when release dates get standardized to Friday internationally. And September 11 is a Friday so there's got to be SOME albums coming out that day.
http://consequenceofsound.net/2015/03/beginning-july-10th-new-albums-will-be-released-on-fridays-and-not-tuesdays/ proof. So Slayer won't be the only band releasing stuff on September 11, don't get mad at them, it's just a date on the calender.
Seems like they'd wanna avoid that date given what happened with their release of God Hates Us All
ooooh. I actually enjoyed WPB, maybe the extra time will benefit their sound a little more
I forgot what's wrong with 9/11?
the 9/11 is edgy enough to be kinda brutal but i wish it were a band more likely to put something interesting out
Not really, it seems kinda like they are trying too hard to evoke a reaction. Makes it more stupid if anything.
Albums is going to be shit anyways so really who cares
Even if WPB is considered decent, they're now missing Hanneman's writing, who penned pretty much all of their most famous songs.
Hey they're at least trying... Give them a little credit for being able to write with dementia.
I agree with OvDeath. I honestly find it completely stupid that people are having a pussy fit over the 9/11 thing.
oh dear. slayer, pls.
Think I'll just stick with the first 5 Slayer albums and call it a day. m/
Digging: Akasha - Canticles of the Sepulchral Deity
What people are saying about the release date are pretty much right, though hopefully Slayer aren't choosing it on purpose just to be edgy. In any case the album'll probably be decent or mediocre.
Agreed Hawks, I think the same can pretty much be said for all of the big 4
dgaf about the release date, album's gonna blow won't listen
''Implode'' and ''WTSC'' were pretty mediocre
"Agreed Hawks, I think the same can pretty much be said for all of the big 4"
I really like Worship Music
It's not thrash but it's my favorite Big Four record from the 2000s onward
No hope for this one, sadly
Im looking forward to the new Anthrax though
" producer Rick Rubin has also been replaced"
Digging: Dream Theater - Distance Over Time
Worst Slayer of all time confirmed.
Also, "God Hates Us All" was released on 9/11. Coincidence?
Digging: Bright Eyes - Letting Off the Happiness
looking at the recent news, it seems like Sputnik really loves Slayer
" producer Rick Rubin has also been replaced"
lol xD...Its hard to believe that the same man who produced Death Magnetic also produced Reign In Blood
World painted blood sounded awful. Had those giant, over-compressed drums...like Death Magnetic.
Not gonna bother with this
Slayer did 9/11
Civil war was an inside job
Will listen but got low expectations.
Digging: Faith No More - King for a Day... Fool for a Lifetime
Of all the new Big 4 albums, this appears to be the worst. The only one I'm really looking forward too is Anthrax, but I'd also jam the new Metallica.
September 11th? Hold onto your hats, New York!
Digging: Steven Wilson - Hand. Cannot. Erase.
So many new albums by bands I like coming out this year...Nightwish, Kamelot, Blind Guardian, Symphony X, Slayer, Stratovarius, Lamb of God...Seventh Wonder need to join this list.
yeah... still will be in 2086.
