Alexisonfire reunite

2015-03-09 by MattTD | 63 Comments
The influential Canadian post-hardcore group Alexisonfire have revealed that they will be playing a handful of festival dates this summer.

Having teased fans a few days earlier, the band announced on Instagram earlier today that they will be making appearances at Heavy Montréal, Reading and Leeds Festival, Sonic Boom, X-Fest and Riot Fest Toronto. A US date is to be announced.

It is currently unclear if the band will be releasing any new material.

Yeah, they promised uber heavy successor to Dog's Blood, they should release that. At least that.

i will reserve judgement on this. Alexis have been on a downward spiral from Watch Out/Crisis.

New album would be great indeed, although I wasn't too impressed with their last one.

I'd like a record that builds upon their debut -- just a little cleaner, prettier and more melody driven.
I love the instrumental soundscapes they created.

Crisis was their best! But can we really expect Dallas Green to not be the center of attention anymore. Chances are a new one would be just ok, but I'm willing to take a chance, if Incubus has comeback from their last poo album then these guys should be ok

So, on top of taking 2-3 years between every album while together, every post-hardcore band that breaks up also has to reunite 2-3 years later? :P

So... 2 years? Some breakup. Just call it a hiatus and forget about the "reunion" and "farewell" stuff.

Oh wait, you don't make as much money that way even though your break up was half the length of Fightstar's "short break" and a mere fraction of Tool and Necrophagist's.

They officially called it quits 4 years ago. Plus there's no reason to believe they're back together, this was just an announcement set of some festival shows they're gonna play.

Why the hate on City & Colour? Bring Me Your Love and Little Hell are great albums and the Live @Orange EP was stellar. First and last not so hot I suppose.

Hope Alexisonfire builds on their last album; "This Could Be Anywhere In the World" was a tune.
