I mean some of it is alright/good, but overall a lot of it is bad. I think there was too much leniency
in choosing tracks. It was interesting above all, though.
|
| |
I don't think it's a matter of getting used to. As the tag would imply, it is indeed lo-fi. It's still a decent outing considering the
artists involved. But overall, objectively it just isn't all that great, and I think I can tell from even skimming through it.
If it is any consolation, this is MC's first big release, and I doubt you guys just accepted tracks and tacked them on one by
one, so I would take it as a lesson and learn from it. I can tell you guys spent a lot of effort with this and that's great. Even
though it may not have lived up to the hype, who's to say the next one won't?
|
| |
nice nice
|
| |
are you talking about track 9 salvidian
you better not be
|
| |
Track 21
|
| |
No. As I said on the other thread, there is some quality stuff on here. It's just that not everything is quality.
|
| |
yeah salvidian thats what i thought about the ep, but judging from a quick skim this doesnt even have the consistency of the ep, just a compilation of random user tracks
some selectiveness would have done good, or even a real collaboration between users... its like damn some of these people didnt even try to make something worth listening to
but yeah i need to give it an actual listen before rating or whatever
|
| |
Couldn't agree more MyLittle... Uh... Hahaha, that is one hilarious name!
|
| |
yo man its serious bizniss
|
| |
just have some fun with it jesus
not everyone on this site is an expert musician
this album is just for fun dont treat like it an actual professional band thats meant to be taken seriously
|
| |
Alright, I'll watch my mouth next time.
|
| |
Will listen to it, it's also cool that I'm on this.
|
| |
Yak it's music and they're discussing it on a music site. Chill out man.
Just cause something was made for fun doesn't mean they have to pretend to enjoy it
|
| |
@YakNips
Well of course, but as MLP said it wasn't even much of a collaboration. Aside from that, I just wanted to point out some things that are fixable even for a random group of Internet acquaintances.
|
| |
okay new problem
THERE IS FUCKING PORN INCLUDED WITH THE DOWNLOAD
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT
WHY?!?
|
| |
brb downloading
|
| |
how come you dont even credit each individual artist i have no idea who contributed what song
|
| |
I literally have no high or low expectations for this. Im just psyched to hear what the sput community is capable of
|
| |
i mean even if its for fun why would someone submit or accept a track that sounds like some guy who can barely play guitar play random shit for 6 minutes, like what a huge waste of time and it brings down people who actually tried on their submission
it could be fun AND awesome if it wasnt for stuff like that you know
|
| |
@LordPots
I believe the artists are listed here on Sputnik.
As for the porn, I never got it. Unless I missed it and it's still here somewhere.
|
| |
I think there's some pretty cool stuff on here
|
| |
MLP and Salvidian - You guys make valid points.
|
| |
@frip why don't u just put the artist name in the 'artist' box on each individual song on bandcamp so you can see what you are listening to without going through a labrynth to find it
|
| |
yo i downloaded it swag
IN FLAC TOO
|
| |
Yeah, I downloaded it too. Found everything by the way.
|
| |
THis download is taking forever for some reason
|
| |
There's porn in the link? Where? lol
|
| |
"MLP- i gues your name is no longer my little penis after seeing the bonuses included with the download"
This is why I stick around.
|
| |
I've just about made it through the whole thing. I started it when you posted it and I listened to the actual audio in parts. Might actually make this my first review.
|
| |
Oh shit, this won't be good.
|
| |
What?
|
| |
please no dry satire part 2
the porn was ok 3/5 must be included when rating the album
i decrypted the hidden message but it wasnt so secret and i am disappoint
|
| |
Dry Satire >> Molecular corp
Oh wait Im in MC, switch that
|
| |
Oh, I saw it. I'll put it on a flash drive, don't want it on my regular computer.
|
| |
Guys Dry Satire new album coming soon
I mean none of it has been written but its coming Im forcing demi to write it
also we're playing shows this summer somehow
|
| |
some of this is bad
some of this is really bad
some of this pretty good
5/5 classic
|
| |
Started my review :] Idk if I'll have it finished tonight though.
|
| |
I don't get the thank you at the end. It was a hard read: lots of long names and, although there weren't a million, there were
details inserted between commas when they shouldn't have been (as in what I just did). @Captain
|
| |
there are some real ballin tracks on here though (7, 11, 12, 17-19 so far are ace) , but yeah i give permission to whoever writes a review to use my summary for the ep verbatim because its pretty damn accurate
|
| |
link doesnt work btw
|
| |
Ive never had problems with it
You use [ url ] [ /url ]?

Just finished. Final thoughts: some good, some bad. But overall pretty much what I expected.
Some points:
The consistency was awful. It didn't feel like a bunch of people coming together to make something. It felt like a bunch of
people holed up in their own rooms, and then tossing whatever they ended up with in a pile. It honestly felt like a bunch of
random tracks. It didn't have that album feel.
The quality was pretty much acceptable given the conditions. In a lot of cases, the quality almost gave it a warmth. It wasn't
over produced whatsoever (obviously) so it felt more intimate than, say, your typical radio single. That isn't to say, of course,
that the audio wasn't god-awful at times.
The actual song structures relate to the consistency issue. There were some really awesome things going on, and then there
were some really bad things going on. Of course, this can be fixed for the most part when the consistency thing is fixed.
Anyway, just some sporadic thoughts.
|
| |
yeah man write a review
i think ill just soundoff rate the tracks individually
|
| |
This review pretty hard to write damn, wasn't expecting this. Let's see what I come up with.
|
| |
I didn't think it was hard to write what I just wrote. Feel free to use any of it for foundational reasons.
|
| |
I might glance at what you wrote Salv, thanks man.
|
| |
No prob.
Romancing Thy Ghost is probably the best track. Related: Another issue was that there wasn't a lot of crisp audio: just noise.
|
| |
I gave him permission Captain.
|
| |
Books is also not bad but what the hell is it doing on here? Haha.
|
| |
Link does not work, mofo
|
| |
There's no way I could sit and listen to this whole 2 hour+ thing, but I did give a couple of tracks a listen. I really liked Requiem for Scott and New York at 37,000 Feet.
|
| |
RfS needed more depth methinks.
|
| |
Depth as in stuff going on.
|
| |
Honestly some of these sound like bad Radiohead b-sides.
|
| |
this album ends pretty strong
|
| |
life's too short
|
| |
Man, having porn come with your album is a great idea.
That way, if people don't like it, they get to jack off at the end and forget it ever happened. (yay!) And, if they like it, they also get to jack off at the end. (double yay!)
|
| |
its aight
|
| |
its got more dicks than tits in true sput fashion
|
| |
^applause for that excellent joke
and it's aight yea
|
| |
