I think it's completely dependent on region and upbringing though. Like I grew up in a pretty backwards area I guess, but around a lot of people of different ethnicity and a gay uncle, so I never really thought outside my bubble of tolerance that anybody these days could possibly hate people for such silly reasons, and then I had gay friends tell me horror stories about how fucked up people are to them just for being normal ass people and I've grown disenchanted with my home town. Also I got let into a club without even getting carded, and then the bouncer searched the shit out of my friend I was with (he's black). Fuck Allentown.

Because of the subject matter I am joyous to know someone can accept what they really are and I support it, but I am never going to listen to this band because some jackass thought they should make it news on the internet and now I am fucking annoyed. I think that at the very least, news like this encourages people of LGBT who are still in the closet to be more comfortable with their sexuality. If you think about it, it's not easy to come out as there is still a social stigma against having a different sexuality (though not as noticeable as before which is a good thing). If more famous people came out and a lot of positive feedback came out of it, then it would help someone from the LGBT community feel at ease with their sexuality and come out of the closet.

Why is it so hard for you guys to recognize that being out is still a taboo in many places? It actually is helpful for people who front bands that influence young kids to be open about their sexuality because of this.
