Oh yesssssss.
| |
Damn fine beard too.
| |
Pretty cool.
| |
amazing song. we're in for it with this next album people.
| |
lol the fuck is this bullshit
| |
I don't know how i feel about it.
| |
never listened to these guys, good song
| |
"lol the fuck is this bullshit"
I believe it's a music video by a band
| |
Add growing a beard to the long list of things Jason Butler does better than pretty much any other vocalist
| |
nu-metal is making a comeback i see
| |
^^^^!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
| |
I dunno how I feel about it yet, surely in the context of the album it will be better though.
| |
lol nu-metal
| |
"I believe it's a music video by a band"
OH GOOD ONE ATARI
| |
i like nu metal
| |
shitty band remains shitty
| |
damn they're angry. i bet his mom told him to clean his room or something
| |
thanks brandon i tried my best!
| |
grows on you a lot
kind of good that this sounds absolutely nothing like glassjaw so maybe people will stop making those comparisons
| |
yeah now they'll get compared to disturbed
| |
song was poop
| |
Meh.
| |
CLICKCLICKBOOM
fuck this noise haha
| |
song rules
| |
i kinda liked that.
| |
yeah i didn't really dig that.
| |
sounds like skindred or zebrahead or something
totally numetal like
but zebrahead is pop-punk m8
| |
Will be better in context. Weird choice for a single but I liked it well enough.
| |
Not the biggest fan of this. Don't know if I like this direction
| |
So fucking good
| |
Fucking rapcore shit...
| |
song is chickens
| |
yeah i'm glad i wasn't the only one that caught the nu metal stuff. granted, i think they pulled it off better than most and it wasn't cringeworthy, but it still wasn't good either.
| |
soooo good waited so long for this
| |
Jason summoning his own Zach de la Rocha
I like it
| |
I M caughtoffguard
| |
How has no one said they sound like RATM yet?
| |
Song is sick can't wait for the new album. Also blonde girl with the popcorn looks like a young Ashlynn Brooke
| |
agreed
| |
meh
i like every single song on their last album more than this
just seems kinda forced somehow
| |
amen, andcas^
| |
hmmmmmmmmm idk what i think of this yet!!! i really like the instrumentation, but the all the vocal parts sound really disjointed at times and kinda ruin it for me. not crazy about the tone of jason's clean singing either. mayhaps it will grow on me. mayhaps...
| |
mayhaps? wtf
| |
I can dig it
Damn fine beard too [2]
| |
Not sure what to think of the rapping. I'm certain it'll grow on me and by AOTY though.
| |
what a fucking joke
| |
"How to sell rapcore back to kids who weren't around to remember how bad it is" - An instructional book by letlive.
| |
yeah i said mayhaps you fucking pussy. what, does my olde english give you a fright, you fucking caveman? huh? fucking mooncalfs up in this bitch.
| |
hahahahahaha
| |
Pretty alright. Hopefully it will grow on me.
| |
I dig it
| |
Song's moderately sick
| |
I hear a hint of the zebrahead comparison in his rapping voice
this is infinitely superior though
| |
I still want to hear a studio version of 27 club
| |
i like it quite a bit, but it isn't up to par with most of the last album. still not disappointed at all, cause fake history's a hell of a lot to live up to, and i'd rather them experiment with their sound than stay the same anyway.
| |
I jizzed till I passed out.
| |
this isnt a news article about radke. wtf?!
| |
I didn't love the rapping, but the song was otherwise pretty decent. I've got high hopes for the rest of the record.
| |
Not sure how I feel about this...I also really don't like his beard.
| |
Good song. Good beard.
| |
BTBAM just posted this video to their Facebook. Thought that was kinda cool
| |
Great song. Great beard. The anti hype machine will be strong in this one.
| |
I put "RIP letlive" on the epitaph post for this video on facebook and somebody got mad at me
| |
Edgy move man.
| |
Nowhere near as anything on fake history, hopefully the album has better songs than this.
| |
meh
| |
^nobody cares about you and most people actually wish you were dead
| |
I thought the song would have broken into a melodic section near the end but it didn't
it sounds fine enough but I'm hoping this song is the outlier
| |
acad speaks the truth
| |
.letlol
| |
This is probably the "Homeless Jazz" of the album.
| |
lmao he sings fast for a few seconds and everyone starts calling it 'rapcore.' wtf
| |
Happens whenever someone does harsh vocals too fast.
| |
white boy?
why, he's on the beat!
and what, pray tell, is he wearing????
g-g-g-g-GUCCI SNEAKS
| |
ALL I DO IS WIN CH-CH-CH- CHARLIE SHEEN
| |
Someone spits out fast lyrics (unless it's Tom Araya or Devin Townsend who are the only people in the history of metal to be allowed to do that): EW IT'S RAPPING RAPCORE NU METAL SHIT
Same as if it has and slight chugging: BORING GENERIC MALLCORE SCENE FAG SHIT
Slightly bassy electronics: DUBSTEP
| |
metalhammer article stupid hyperbole confirmed
but i dig it, it'll be a fun album
| |
Been listening to it on repeat on my commute - and yeah, definitely love it.
| |
lmao
| |
also btbam like these guys apparently
not a fan of them but thats kinda cool
| |
God I fuckin hate sputnik sometimes.
Song rules hard. Lookin forward to this!
| |
"This is probably the "Homeless Jazz" of the album." [2]
| |
"God I fuckin hate sputnik sometimes."
Yeah, I fucking hate it when people don't agree with my opinions too. It makes my ego infinitely more fragile.
| |
Not a bad song. Pretty fun. I just wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it again.
| |
Fuck yes. Album should be awesome.
| |
Pretty good. Can't wait for the album.
| |
Definitely reminds me of RATM but where the fuck are you people getting nu-metal vibes. I was into Fake History for a few weeks but it got old quick, dug this song a bit though, I'll be giving the new album a shot.
| |
Song is totally bangin. Also Nu metal is for queers
| |
I frankly could not care less about the nu metal influence. I think it comes with that whole Glassjaw/Deftones type sound that these guys have adopted.
Anyway, the energy really floored me here, and I think the rapping/fast screaming/whatever was warranted. As far as singles go, this rocked.
| |
wow people are way too hard on this band and clearly don't remember what nu-metal sounds like
| |
I want to hear the song in context with the rest of the album. I'm a little disappointed right now, but I think they could pull it off well.
| |
Not a bad song. Pretty fun. I just wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it again. [2] Sounds kinda similar to Rage Against the Machine, but less interesting.
| |
stray from the path with cleans and raping
| |
rapping*
| |
I honestly thought this was boring as hell and I loved fake history. Hopefully I just need a few more listens
| |
overreactions itt
that was barely rapping
| |
Screaming is rapping, duh
| |
drummer wearing an Ice Cube shirt and Suicide Silence shorts lol
| |
Not the best they've done.
| |
"This is probably the "Homeless Jazz" of the album."
but that song ruled, this one doesn't
| |
This blows.
| |
what don't you guys like about the song?
| |
that was a song
| |
Didn't care for the rapping at all but the rest was good, as expected. I do hope the rest is better though.
| |
I can see why the "rapping" is divisive, but it fits really well into Butler's vocal style. It adds to the grit and hard edge he's going for, and as out of place as I expected it to be, it meshed surprisingly well with the overall song.
| |
This song is a banger and I can't believe it's 2013 and people still can't wrap their heads around, or be accepting of, rap.
| |
Plus, it is HARDLY rap anyway
| |
Awesome live band tho
| |
It fits enough into his vocal arsenal to be perfectly fine imo
still channels his inner insanity and aggression
| |
"This song is a banger and I can't believe it's 2013 and people still can't wrap their heads around, or be accepting of, rap."
that literally has nothing to do with it. it sounded bad in the song. period. end of story
| |
"that literally has nothing to do with it. it sounded bad in the song. period. end of story"
Justify this statement
| |
yeah JUSTIFY your opinion otherwise you will hereby be considered either a troll or an ELITIST
| |
def.
Badass song either way.
| |
This song is a banger and I can't believe it's 2013 and people still can't wrap their heads around, or be accepting of, rap.
We're all pretty accepting of the rap vocal style. Everyone prominent user here enjoys hip hop to some degree and hence
enjoy rapping. It's just people don't like it in this song.
As for me, I barely consider it rapping. I think the nature of Letlive's fast, groove heavy style lets those vocals in really well
without turning them into some Ronnie Radke bullshit.
| |
preach it
| |
Devin Townsend is my fav rapper
| |
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojSogfDvxi8 check out da phat rhymes
| |
" Justify this statement"
it sounded bad in the song because i think it sounded bad in the song, and that's really all the justification i need. i don't even really think it was necessarily rapping, but it gave off a nu metal vibe nonetheless and i didn't enjoy it.
| |
Man, good thing I don't listen to much nu metal. Lame genre.
| |
I've changed my mind, song is definitely a grower. Really digging it after 10 listens.
| |
Although lets be honest Jason is obviously channeling that catholic hip hop monk.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgZbP8nddhU
| |
Song rules. Album will rule. Are some people listening to a different song? Theres no rapping in this at all.
| |
song started out sooooooooooooo dope but got really gay really fast
| |
No...nu metal is still a lame genre
Or at least the mainstream nu metal bands are
| |
rapcore and numetal are not things i would compare this to
| |
rapcore, nu metal, post-hardcore, glassjaw-core...i dont care what you call it, im loving it
| |
Is it wrong that I think this band sounds like Limp Bizkit of the early 2000's?
| |
I don't hear any rap or nu metal in this song.
| |
this reminds me of 'Township Rebellion' from RATM with singing thrown in
| |
There is no nu-metal in this song, people don't know what nu-metal even means anymore.
| |
Hold on did joshieboy really just compare the band who wrote Muther and Day 54 to Nookie and Break Stuff like what the hell
| |
Everything new nowadays is either metalcore, nu metal, scenecore or dubstep
| |
uhhh what planet do you live on
| |
New Defeater and letlive. in one day? This is just too much.
| |
Can't get into these guys
| |
Made me wanna dance...good enough for me!
| |
Letlive, I wanna be inside you
| |
whats funny is he's acting less crazy in this video than he does live
| |
"I also really don't like his beard"
beard envy alert!
Actually...I just think it kinda makes him look arab and it's weird
| |
the quick-talk stuff skeeved me out a little bit when i heard it in the amazon track preview but i thought it sounded a lot better in the context of the whole song. i dig it
| |
was pretty ok
| |
LIMP BIZKIT
| |
letlive going limp bizkit now or what. fucking awful.
| |
More like going for a RATM influenced glassjaw sound
Lrn2musik
| |
I dug it. I thought there was a lot more going on than mere RATM aping
| |
this was fucking awesome.
| |
I have a feeling people calling this "nu-metal" are the same people who call everybody a hipster.
| |
"whats funny is he's acting less crazy in this video than he does live"
I watched a clip the other night where he played imaginary baseball with himself on stage during a
song. He played the pitcher, the batter, and a fielder who caught it, running from one side of the
stage to the other. Guy is hilarious live.
| |
So I synced this song to my iPod the night before my exams start and it broke my fucking iPod.
FUCK
| |
song is superb, been way too long
| |
I still don't get all the negative reaction
It's a shit load more energetic and groovy than their previous work
| |
Sounds like Fake History with rapping. Doesn't sound like RATM though.
| |
Better than anything off their last record, mainly cos they've dropped them horrid queefy vox.
| |
This feels like a step backwards for them.
| |
I think the gang vocals are incorrectly placed, and am I the only one hearing blues riffs? Kinda like Tom Morello's in a farfetch'd way. The soft part before the long gang vocals sounds similar to Lemon Party. But I'm kinda loving this.
| |
Cmon guys
Where yo faith at
| |
it's pretty decent, not as good as the best parts of Fake History but it was pretty fun
| |
This is so good! I'm definitely looking forward to the album
Oh, and I personally didn't consider the vocals as "rapping". I really like what they are doing with this song. I could go without that acoustic-guitar break, though.
| |
FAST, NON-MELODIC, RHYTHMIC VOCALS?!! RAPPING! NU METAL, SAYS I!
| |
lol
| |
Calling AOTY. yes i know its a bit optimistic.
| |
