You've got to keep in mind that Spec has a fucking Architects album ranked as a 5.0 Classic. So there's that. I find that most people who write The National off as boring or mediocre have opinions that require a grain or two of salt.

I dunno about this, it looks like the guy is just really trying to make a film about himself instead of the band.

I think it starts off that way, kind of jokingly, but turns into something more serious. The trailer makes it look like his brother was having some sort of identity crisis, and that the tour/documentary helped him overcome that. I'm sure it will be interesting, to say the very least.
