Hmm yea idk how I feel about the movie, Cruise is always solid in everything it's just people hate him personally for lots of very good reasons still a hell of an actor tho

I agree Alien3 is underrated its trying to be its own thing and I love the tone and that they made Ripley a loner again I'd rather watch it than Prometheus or Resurrection

cruise isn't a bad actor but is typecast into the same role way too much to be a good actor

I'd agree that Cruise is a pretty fantastic actor. Born on the Fourth of July alone should prove it. So should Magnolia. But he's also got a sizable roster of great performances to back those up, even in his "mainstream" films (Minority Report, Collateral, and, yeah, I'll say it, Jerry Maguire).

As for Alien3, yeah, it's the rare sequel that (in my opinion, at least), failed not for being too audience-pleasing and pandering, but for being too dark and removed from exactly the (sure, awesome) action-film heroics that made Aliens so successful. (Which is strange, because even Aliens is pretty tonally distant from Alien, so you'd think fans of the franchise wouldn't just want more of the same. Ah well.)

Just listened to the whole thing, very much worth checking out if you're into film score; or even the loftier side of M83. It's not 100% original but it's quite satisfying. That last track is epic.

Film sounded cool but the trailer looked awful. Then again, film trailers have a tendency to completely twist the tone of
films and make them seem like crappy clichéd D list action flicks, no matter what they're about.

I refuse to accept this will not be a good movie. Kind of like I refused to accept that Prometheus wasn't awesome. I mean it was good. But it wasn't awesome. I like that Jesus was an alien. I'd say that was a spoiler but unless you have pretty good attention to detail you wouldn't even notice.
