Woo! Their last ep was awesome, been waiting for a full new album. The "futuristic" and "alien" comments make me hopeful too.

I've been hoping for them to create a 20 minute epic...wonder what the chances of one being on here are? Probably none..

They're recording in Perfect Sound studios in Hollywood.

Sean Reinert said: "This album marks Cynic's 5th release. It's a bold new sound for Cynic and marks a gigantic leap in the band's progression. We've had a lot of time to let this material develop and gestate, and it finally feels ready to be unleashed on the world. I've been in trio mode with Malone and Masvidal flushing out a zillion and one details, and couldn't be happier about what's happening with these songs. They are truly alive!"

Apparently early working titles for tracks include: "Endlessly Bountiful", "Moon Heart Sun Head", and "True Hallucination Speak".

You can't just listen to focus once and expect to like it noob. Once you have a feel for the twists, peaks etc, it becomes quite the listening experience.

Everyone who is publicly or privately wishing and hoping this will be anywhere near as metal as Focus or Traced in Air is delusional.

Whether it's going to be a metal release or not, it'll probably still be awesome.
It would be cool if they incorporated elements from all the past releases into this one though.
