Song is fucking terrible. I didn't know Austin wanted to be like Oli Sykes.
| |
Not quite a fan of this song. I mean, it probably wasn't right of me to even expect much after Shayley left
| |
Hmm, I didn't really mind if the band lost the clean vocals because even without them any song on their two albums was a fun and heavy track.
This new song however kinda sucks...
| |
those lyrics doe
| |
I dig this song. Much more than most of The Flood.
| |
i enjoyed this
| |
Sounds like old Slipknot or something
oh, and all the new songs on the reissue start with "The"
| |
fucking mediocre. one of the most generic metalcore songs i've heard in a long while.
| |
and rise needs to chill the fuck out with all these re-issues.
| |
terrible
| |
Blows
| |
I think it's a fun listen. It's not great by any stretch but it's enough to get the blood pumping.
| |
It's not even fun to listen too! Guys, you need a CLEAN vocalist. Just cuz Austin can scream professionally doesn't mean it sounds good for an entire song, especially one that's terribly written. Come on! "The Flood" was really going places for you, what happened?
| |
pretty monotonous aside from the yell break in the middle and the part at 1:20. Wouldn't expect much more from a b side, even with this band being a guilty pleasure of mine
rosa im cool with you know
| |
@iGuter agreed.
| |
Sucked, but what else is new?
| |
agreed andcas
| |
sucked no surprise there.
| |
Definitely a huge disappointment.
| |
he does sound like oli sykes
| |
I liked it. However, they really need some clean vocals. It gets redundant quickly.
| |
austins vocals in this track sound so much like danny stillman's of drop dead gorgeous.
| |
Rise DOES need to chill on these Re-Issues.
| |
b-side is b-side
| |
I'm probably one of the biggest OM&M fans on this website, and I gotta say...am disappoint...
| |
Yea most def chill on the reissues. It wasn't to bad just a little repetative. Those lyrics are cool doe
| |
Listen to the scream when the vocals come in then listen to the first scream in THIS song, please. For a split second I forgot they weren't the same guy.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4_DV9ZWynw
| |
meh
| |
I mean it's not bad, but it definitely fell a little flat for me. I feel like the lyrics are weird too, I can't really catch a lot of meaning behind it. Idk, not my favorite song by them. Hopefully the other 2 newer songs will catch my ear.
| |
From what I understand, frontman Austin is also performing clean screams on the album. I'm sure they'll be featured in other tracks. As "I'm a Monster" on the Flood was in the same kind of style as this track is. Lots of screaming, breakdowns, and repeated riffs. It's not great, but it isn't terrible either. It definitely can get you 'pumped,' and you just gotta love the production on this song. So glad they chose a different producer for the re-release tracks (though, Joey Sturgis did do a pretty exceptional job with the tracks on The Flood).
| |
Who's producing the new stuff?
| |
Apparently not says, c0nf1n3d
| |
Lyrics are poetic
| |
booooooooooooooring
| |
never ever ever understood the immense amount of hype for this band, they sound just like every other Strugis-produced Risecore band out there. Then again the kids eat that shit up.
| |
It sounds so MUCH a lot like BMTH - suicide season... and I thoroughly enjoyed the Flood too.
| |
this band have always been pretty rubbish
| |
Crap
| |
cant listen to it yet as I'm in work but liking the reviews of it sounding like BMTH... disappointed no clean vocals though. Fan of this band so I'm looking forward to listening to it.
| |
Sucks, I really liked the Flood, I thought that was pretty terrible. Now I miss Shayley.
| |
SHUTUP WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU
| |
That's not bad, but not very good though.
| |
The Flood was a 5/5 for me, srs
this song gets 3/5 for being aggressive but lacks originality and fun
| |
"Apparently not says, c0nf1n3d"
Correct! While I'm honestly not sure who it is per say, the new tracks have been engineered in New York. Also, production
shots (via their Facebook page), showcase that the control room is MUCH different from Joey's. There's a complete
soundboard/patch bay, and it looks actually really nice! I'm sure the 'producer/engineer' or whatnot will be included in
album credits, or announced later.
: )
| |
Best part of this thread is Rosa likes OM&M.
I thought this was decent for them. Cause I don't like them generally.
| |
I expected not to like the song, but it was a lot different than I thought and although I think it's a bad slip knot impersonation I'm glad it's not some cheesy typical shit with a big breakdown in it.
| |
terrible lyrics. band is dead without Shayley.
| |
My god, how am I the first to bring up guitar tone.
Every fucking generic metalcore band is trying to be volumes now and it's fucking irritating.
| |
This sounds absolutely nothing like volumes.
| |
Fun song, not sure if I could stand an entire album sounding like this though.
| |
Song was pretty bad. I loved Shayley in the band, but dunno if I wanna listen to them without him.
| |
Seriously people, Rise records only sign the shitty bands, almost every band of them sucks dick
| |
this song is miles ahead of anything off the flood
| |
song is awesome and i don't give a fuck
| |
actually I do hate this song...it's godawful. everything about it. vocals, mixing, mastering, lyrics...gosh. what happened guys?
| |
Production is great, but why all the re-issues? Does anyone ACTUALLY buy re-issued albums?
| |
if i do buy an album, i almost only buy re-issues or deluxe editions,
| |
A lot of people are saying that this new stuff is crap, but I think its actually pretty good.. groovy and heavy, I like it!
| |
I kinda liked this.
| |
At least they finally went with a producer other than Joey Sturgis
| |
True
| |
Band sucks.
| |
slipknot+bmth=shit
| |
At least they finally went with a producer other than Joey Sturgis
Funny how their sound is ten times worse than what Sturgis made them sound like.
| |
I just don't know how to feel about Of Mice and Men.. They're just so blahh. The only song I ever
cared for so far has been "Westbound and Down."
P.S. Oh, and I liked "Let Live"
| |
They're just like Attack Attack! They're trying to get heavier and heavier.. Not mention that their new song is just gonna be on a reissue of their album.. (Sound familiar? *cough* Attack Attack! *cough*). In fact, their so much alike that I forget which one is which sometimes.
| |
That was pretty damn boring. Production was boring too
| |
can't click on a thread without hearin about this sturgis fella
| |
Worse than with Sturgis, Shayley's new band sucks why did he have to leave him and Austin went so well together.
Gonna have to give this another listen after rugby today. Or perhaps before since some of you say it gets you jacked
| |
guys I got the tabs
0-0000-0-0000-0-0000-0000-0-00-00-00000-0-00-00-0000
| |
The beginning sounds like a cross between Slipknot's Eyeless and Surfacing, and the rest is new Attack Attack! (but
better) with a bit of BMTH's It Never Ends. But I like the song.
| |
all the big rise bands want to leave rise because its a terrible label so they are running up their contracts by doing
reissues because reissues count as 1 of the albums in their 5 or so album contracts. been an omam fan for awhile, lyrics
killed this song for me
| |
that actually makes a lot of sense ^
| |
yeah, rise helps lots of bands out and is pretty understanding, i mean Scarlett O'hara dropped out of 3 headlining tours before they were released, and they paid for johnny craigs macbook thing.
| |
Rise is a good label, victory is the bad one
| |
"guys I got the tabs
0-0000-0-0000-0-0000-0000-0-00-00-00000-0-00-00-0000"
this joke isn't funny anymore.
| |
i remember when Rise signed that band Bad Rabbits or whatever, they posted some status saying "we can't always sign emo bands, guys" or some shit and ever since then i've had no respect
| |
Comments like that make me want to go to Lowe's and an hero in the rope isle.
| |
""guys I got the tabs

this is worse than their older stuff
| |
Bleh...I'm not the biggest fan in the first place, but this song really is repetitive sounding and is definitely missing more chords or something. The screams are pretty good, but man, it does seem to be missing the cleans or something else to break it up.
Oh, and I am actually really excited for the Poison the Well reissue of Opposite of December and Tear from the Red. Both of those albums are old enough and are awesome enough to deserve reissues in my opinion, as well as remastering. I wholeheartedly agree with the other reissues of silly stuff like Attack, Attack...kind of embarrassing that something like that would get a reissue...
| |
Eh it's ok I just think they shoulda stuck with the sound they had on The Flood. IMO I just don't think their next album will be as good without Shayley. His cleans were a real highlight in most of their songs.
| |
Btw what's the name of Shayley's band? I remember hearing he was gonna have a different one and I wanna check it out to see if it's any good.
| |
this song kicks ass. i get so amped when i listen to it. yeah shayley had to leave but it was mutual and for the better. they workin with what they got now and i think that this is a good start for what is to come.
| |
Shayley's new band I believe is called 'Dayshell', last time I checked they didn't have much material out. But that was awhile ago.
| |
he had hurt his back, and touring so often hurt it worse so he was covering the pain with alcohol. So hes just not touring now.
| |
