I didn't expect the cleans at all.

Its an improvement, albeit still bad.

Everything up until the chorus is shit. The cleans are listenable at least and you can tell by the guitar in the chorus that Jason took control. Everything other than that is terrible. Rolling from one breakdown into another. Lyrics are bad too.

I think they get worse and worse over time.

I had some hope for this because Jason is so good at guitar, aside from a couple rays of talent it's all the same.

Granted I was into deathcore and that shit at the time but hell sometimes you just gotta like something for what it is. The beginning of Recreant will always make me wanna hurt people.

Does this community like anything? Everytime I go to read comments everyone says the same thing (except bloc... he's kinda random with what he likes). In my opinion this was a great song... people saying adding singing is conforming to mainstream trends which is a total bullshit comment... There are plenty of bands out there that just do screaming so either way they are committing to some sort of trend and they can decide that as a band.

Jason added a lot with his beautiful sweeps during the song they get stuck in my head so easy. And to the people who say that the screams are awful and that they don't sound good... Do you think after 2 albums that they are just now going to realize "Oh shit our vocalist sounds like that?". No. Because, they want him to sound like that... the vocals he has add so much to each and every song. It's not monotonousness like a bunch of other bands vocalist... he has range and brings interesting screams to CG's music.

This Evolve EP will be a step up from their previous work and am looking forward to listening to the full EP.

the fact that alex can do inhales, exhales, fries, false chord, and pig squeal and still have a good singing voice is remarkable this only expands him as a musician, I look at it more like he's expanding what he can do as a metal/hardcore vocalist. love the talent of this band and the sheer musicianship in this song, can't wait till the ep

@Shevanel92 didn't see your post about The Contortionist and Whitechapel till now haha Xp... They are both good bands... I'm excited about The Contortionists new album dropping soon... I just saw them live like 2 weeks ago and they played 2 new songs which were absolutely awesome and I also just went to Vegas and saw Whitechapel and After the Burial play on the Recorrupted tour... It made me want a venue that nice in my home town Xp but, awesome tours don't come around to Boise, ID very much =/

Other than Miss May I, every band on that tour was wicked. Sadly it didn't come to Canada though :/
