The Word Alive loses 2 members

2012-02-06 by c0nf1n3d | 35 Comments
The Word Alive have posted an update on Facebook regarding future changes within the band. Aside from small details regarding their new album (set to begin production within the next week), keyboardist Dusty Riach and drummer Justin Salinas have parted ways from the band to pursue new interests.

"TWA and TeamTWA are a family, and it will remain that way. This might come to a shock to many of you, and that is ok. Member changes are never fun for fans to hear, or bands to go through. Reality is though, they happen."

More information about each member's departure, including personal messages from them, can be found via the link below:

Not too worried, looks like there will still be plenty of programming done by Tony and Zack.

Looking forward to the new album.

Doesn't matter. Dusty didn't do too much cool stuff and sucked a lot out if the music and only good thing drummer had was insane double bass, but that was probably programmed

The double bass in Hounds of Anubis was crazy. But that's about it.

.. Just hope it doesn't impact their sound too much. They're really taking a hit or miss with this one.

band sucks so who cares.

and to all you kids talking about how great the double bass is in their songs, its painfully obvious that the bass drum in their music is programmed and it sounds like shit

These guys were awful live. Saw them with Every Time I Die last year in Sydney. They started insulting the crowd when they wouldn't respond to the br00tal breakdowns. For that poor stage form, I hope the rest of the band bail-out.

I have no clue if those two were influential on the sound and songwriting, but their roles can easily be replaced, if not improved.
