Their stuff was mediocre but it was still lots of fun. I don't think I'll ever get tired of them.

I have a hard time distinguishing how this compares to the their other music in some ways. For me, I have always loved this band and I didn't realize what made them "generic" when I started listening to this kind of music, but I definitely do feel that they have grown a lot. I think they've developed their own style and hopefully this album will be their best release yet.

Well, we'll see, Andcas. This is one of 13 songs.

One thing I've never understood is how people find Mike's vocals to be "grating" when there are vocalists like Jacob Bannon and the vovalist from A Sawtooth Grin. Not to mention, if you hear Mike live, his vocals are actually even better. I think in the recording process, they must do something that makes his voice sound more harsh. I don't think it's intentional, but it just happens that way.

Judging by the comments, not even pausing The Contortionist for this. I watched them go from playing shows in my hometown of like 100 people, and they ruled. It's like the bigger they got, the worse they got. Hated everything with a passion except Patterns and Dear Love.

Dear Love was basically just Patterns re-recorded plus a few new songs.

"Why are Jacob Bannon and the guy from TDWP being compared?"
I thought I made it clear...They are both vocalists with what I consider to be "harsh" screams. Never said they were that similar or anything. Does it really matter, though? Who cares if I compare them?

Yeah, they're really not that bad of a band. Zombie is a blast to listen to. That fromtheinside guy gave it a 1.5 though, and Plagues and With Roots Above a 2.5 (???)

How the fuck can anyone think they did nothing differently on Zombie? It's faster paced, more technical, and has a certain atmosphere. It's far superior to anything else they've done. It's not supposed to be earth shattering. It's a fun listen, plain and simple. Don't expect it to be Jane Doe Pt. 2.
