What they think they're Black Dahlia incarnates now?
Garbage band. Nothing even remotely good since Doom.
|
| |
Good band.
|
| |
"Garbage band. Nothing even remotely good since Doom."
I literally laughed out loud at this. Are you serious? Doom was the epitome of terrible. Why do you think they changed their style so quickly?
|
| |
F*CK YES!!
|
| |
EP sounds legit so far though. And I'll agree it sounds BDM-esque, not that that's a bad thing.
|
| |
yeah gaiz the EP is real legit...it really sounds BDM esque...
god, these new users...fucking kids who think Lol For a Cowboy is good music
|
| |
Doom > Genesis > Ruination.
Sorry I'm a -core fan so I liked Doom the most. But, this EP is sounding really good so it's probably
going to change my mind on Doom being the best.
|
| |
Yeah I'm for sure getting this. I'm happy that this band is constantly improving. I sometimes wonder if the "chug chug, bree bree" shit on the "Doom" EP was just a genius marketing tool to get attention before changing to real death metal.
|
| |
"Doom > Genesis > Ruination."
Ow man... that makes me sad.
|
| |
their all pretty equal imo. nothing bellow a 4/5 imo.
|
| |
Sorry, but I just enjoy me some junz and core.
|
| |
^That I must disagree with. Ruination was a 3/3.5 at the most, everything else way lower.
|
| |
I'm liking this so far
|
| |
Time user spends on website =/= musical taste and age.
That said, EP is boring, sounds like the last two albums, these guys need new ideas.
|
| |
"Sorry, but I just enjoy me some junz and core."
'Sall good man. Not criticizing; to each his own - whatever pleases our ear pussies.
|
| |
I'd like to hear a reason as to why 'lol for a cowboy' isnt good music.
|
| |
"fuck this band, thats all I have to say, oh wait no its not, they suck!!! LOL"
An interesting first.
|
| |
"Time user spends on website =/= musical taste and age."
It really just saddens me that I can't satisfy all of Sputnik's opinion.
|
| |
Lmfao I've never seen such retards defend this shitty band.
|
| |
does anyone else think it's funny that they had an ep called doom and now they have one called gloom? will listen to this eventually. i actually like ruination, whereas i find genesis generally pretty bad and doom an amusing, but poor ep, so i'm interested to see how this will sound
|
| |
"does anyone else think it's funny that they had an ep called doom and now they have one called gloom?"
Absolutely hilarious.
|
| |
Although the people that slate them do so with little reason. I suppose we are all 'retards'
|
| |
Hm, this is actually pretty decent.
|
| |
Really don't see what's so shitty about this band now, but hey different strokes, different folks.
I got Misery Reformatory off of this and I really enjoyed it. Gonna listen to the rest of it soon.
|
| |
Blowjob For A Gay Cowboy
|
| |
"does anyone else think it's funny that they had an ep called doom and now they have one called gloom?"
...yeah I'm about completely 100% sure they did that on purpose.
|
| |
They're just a band....
|
| |
Nah, it was obviously a coincidence.
|
| |
Ruination was awesome. Hopefully this is more of the same.
|
| |
job for a faggot
cause they suck
Penis
|
| |
Hmmm. It doesn't sound too bad but to be honest it feels like they've pigeon-holed themselves with the direction they've taken their music.
|
| |
this isn't a terrible album. it's really boring with bad vocals, but not terrible: there's a good riff here and there.
|
| |
Doom and Gloom. Imaginative.
I used to be into these guys however, so I will check this out after Uni.
|
| |
I'm not too big on JFAC, but I will admit that they have one of my favorite vocalists in death metal. And by that I mean everything besides the pig squeals from their early stuff.
|
| |
I feel like they were heading in a really cool direction with Ruination, but this is pretty generic IMO.
|
| |
I agree with iamthenightstars. Their vocalist is the best part of the band, the way he uses his lows fast.
|
| |
sounds just like TBDM. Good.
|
| |
"hahaha I want to know wtf they were thinking when they named this 'gloom'"
Definitely agreed, but I'm still going to buy this.
|
| |
band is terrible, Doom was awful what are some people on about. EP is probably average at best.
|
| |
doom was the besststststtststststst.
|
| |
This sounds like a mediocre version of Bloodbath.
|
| |
wow this is a lot more interesting than i was expecting. ruination was great but i though it was a little bland at times.
|
| |
band is mediocre, but not the worst. suck live though.
|
| |
Doom may not be the pinnacle of metal, but I find it's a fun listen. I like some songs by these guys though I don't really consider myself a fan. Saw them opening for BTBAM and he said "this is from our new ep ironically titled 'gloom"

This thread.... geez at the comments.
|
| |
first song wasn't too bad.

This is pretty offensive, but at the same time flattering that somebody actually views Sputnik as plagiarism-worthy. We must be doing something right.
|
| |
I like the ideas on Plastic Idols. I wish the band would take larger steps in their albums though. This has some interesting ideas throughout though.
|
| |
ep's so fuckin boring
|
| |
Genesis. great. album AND band
|
| |
Wasn't bad. I think that's all this band has ever been though; "Not Bad". Nothing exceptional, but nothing worth complaining about. I think one of there strongest moments was on their first Demo back in '04. 'What We Once Called Home' is one of their best songs, I reckon.
|
| |
BRIEEE BREIIEE HORR HORR! EUGRHHHH! *echoes*
|
| |
There are a lot of idiots in this thread.
I'm indifferent to this band, but I may listen to this just to check it out.
|
| |
Who the fuck DO you people like? Job for a Cowboy is better live than any other band I've seen.
|
| |
Micahsauce, you've probably never been to any other shows then. The four local bands in my area all shit on jfac live.
|
| |
I've been going to shows for ten years.
|
| |
then your perception of good live bands is clearly off-kilter. jfac live is like 5 people playing 5 different songs at once, and not in the cool grindcore way.
|
| |
ahaha gloom and doom, clever
|
| |
needs more doom, and squeels.
|
| |
I saw them live and thought they were awesome. So did my friend who isn't a JFAC fan (he went to see BTBAM)
|
| |
Listening to the first track...sounds a lot like TBDM, which is fine by me. Sounds better than their other work.
|
| |
Doom wasn't that bad
|
| |
Trakcs 2, 3, and 4 are generic trash.
Track 1, reminds me of the Fleshwrought side project, and it's pretty good.
|
| |
very meh, but some parts were ok
|
| |
band gets so much undeserved hate.
got a soft spot for em
|
| |
so bad
|
| |
I wouldn't mind another Genesis. While is was generic, it was done so well that it's possibly the only 'straight forward-generic" DM albums I bother listening to nowadays.
Also, band is pretty okay live.
Also Also, album was okay.
|
| |
i wouldnt mind another doom.
|
| |
boring
|
| |
Guys, there are PLENTY worse bands than Job For A Cowboy. At least the members know how to play their instruments.
That said, I heard these guys play one of the songs off this EP during the BTBAM tour. It was surprisingly good, I may give this a quick listen to see if they managed to make something that halfway decent. But if it ends up like Genesis, then FUCK.
|
| |
"Guys, there are PLENTY worse bands than Job For A Cowboy. At least the members know how to play their instruments."
that's the worst argument ever.
if I eat a bad meal and complain to the restaurant about it, they're not going to point to a piece of dog shit and say "hey, at least it's not that!" because it actually doesn't make my meal any better.
|
| |
qwe's one of those jackasses that complains when his free bowl of tortilla chips are too greasy
|
| |
"i wouldnt mind another doom."
One upped.
|
| |
im one of those jackasses who likes good things not bad things
|
| |
Fuck this band. Fuck them in the ass
|
| |
Pretty fucking terrible live band, although I give them props for playing without one guitarist at the Vancouver BTBAM show.
|
| |
i give them no props
|
| |
I'm loud as fuck, I'm ignorant, I'll slap a bitch, for talkin' shit!
|
| |
Not saying they aren't total shit. Just not total pussies.
|
| |
So what? My drummer and I can play a number of punk songs as a Japandroids/No Age duo
but hey now job for a cowboy can play their shitty songs MINUS ONE GUITAR PLAYER WOW BAND OF THE YEAR
|
| |
blackwater park
|
| |
okay my bad sorry forgot how it works here
lololol shit band is shit death metal lololol gloom doom lololol
|
| |
i know you hear this all the time but what the hell...
scoot you are an idiot
|
| |
scoot u just disgraced the b.c. community...shame on you
|
| |
I always marvel at people who just comment "shitty band" but never back it up - no reasons.
Some bands are just in style to hate, aren't they?
|
| |
"Some bands are just in style to hate, aren't they?"
Pretty much, yes.
|
| |
The Black Dahlia Murder comparisons are hilarious, you kids are pretty deaf.
This is by far the best thing JFAC has done since Doom, that's for sure, I'm actually quite enjoying it.
|
| |
Pretty fucking terrible live band, although I give them props for playing without one guitarist at the Vancouver BTBAM show.
Really? I admittedly haven't seen them since they had Elliott and Ravi in the band, but they put on a Goddamn good show back then. Then again, that's when Entities was a "new" song, so it was actually Job For A Cowboy, not the Johnny Davy band.
