For people interested on how both albums will sound:
This is an edited track taken from Ghost
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEVELikwBQ0

A studio update with some samples
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EeaPnTvsH0
...and here's a live video of Devin playing half of Deconstruction
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3clXASPYdYk

Most of the audience didn't know who he was though and probably weren't into metal but he was asked to perform there half a day prior, so he had to ask them not to leave.

Album cover looks like Bioshock meets ICP.

I can't believe that i'm gonna check this out, despite all the things turning me away from it... the fact that the majority of Townsend's "heavy music" that i've heard i found boring as hell, the heavy symphonic approach that was hinted at in an update video for this album... if this is based around his fucking wall of sound production, i doubt even the unbelievably impressive guest list will save it for me.

That type of production is amazing don't hate. That being said, he said he doesn't want to be known as the dude who only does wall of sound things so I'm guessing it's probably going to produced similarly to the other two DTP albums.

I disagree entirely about the production. I always felt it sucked a lot of the life out of his music, and always kinda came across as a gimmick more than anything else. Glad he wants to move away from it, though.

According to a recent interview with Townsend, the album is a concept album which focuses around a man who goes to hell and meets the devil. The devil eventually promises to show him the secrets of the universe and presents a cheeseburger to him. However, being a vegetarian, the man cannot eat the cheeseburger, rendering his journey pointless.

Townsend has always been about teh lulz with his music. The songs were obviously named with humor in
mind so it makes little sense to me why this record should have anything but equally Dev-tastic cover
art. Uber Hevy Devvy, Duke of Bipolar Funnyland ftw. Guest list, song titles and song lengths are
awesome. Groaners gonna groan. Stoked. Win.
