lol limewire
| |
Saw this earlier today, loled. Did anyone actually still use that program? Who even uses P2P anymore?
RIAA is retarded if they think this accomplishes anything though.
| |
Limewire is the most inefficiant P2P service so I don't really care that it's gone, but who do the RIAA expect to pay that kind of money? The creators? Because they sure as hell can't afford it.
| |
R.I.P.
| |
Haven't used this program in years, but RIP.
I never would have gotten through junior year in high school without you.
| |
Dammit! How else am I going to get all of my child porn?
| |
no loss
| |
mediafire anyone?
| |
Haven't used Limewire since I was like 13.
| |
^both of the above
| |
It's about time
| |
1813?
| |
people at my school still use limewire while i have the joys of mediafire all to myself-my school gets laptops to so 89% of my day roughly is downloading music and lurking sputnik
| |
@someguest: 2000
| |
Fuck! Now where will I get copious amounts of viruses?
| |
I only used this to get my street bjs videos :D
| |
damn now how will i find songs that are incorrectly labeled and with fluctuating volume?
LOL limewire sucks so much dick. seriously mediafire = way to go
| |
I miss the days of P2P networks. My first was Morpheus, then Kazaa and finally Limewire until I discovered the joys of direct downloading and torrents.
| |
And by 'I miss the days' I mean I really don't. At all.
| |
good cause i was like whaaaa?!?!? how do you not enjoy mediafire and direct downloads? they're so... amazing and simple haha
| |
Yeah someguest, Limewire was a pretty recent one. Napster was all the rage before that and when that got shut down everyone settled on Kazaa and when that got killed off it was all to Limewire. Apparently Frostwire is the new thing for 14 year olds to download porn from, so I doubt this is going to do much in terms of stopping P2P programs.
| |
as long as they don't kill mediafire.
| |
dammit, everyone at my school is going to be using mediafire now.....no longer my little secret there
| |
Mediafire is where it's at. I thought that was common knowledge.
| |
first limewire, then the world.
| |
The Pirate Bay will never fall...
| |
Mediafire is where it's at. I thought that was common knowledge.
It should be, but people who don't browse the internet 24/7 don't know much about good downlaoding sites.
| |
Ah, Limewire.
Can't tell you how many PC's that shit raped.
| |
Time to hit up Frostwire
| |
It's sad how many people were still using Limewire honestly.
| |
123 ties, limewire never suited me cause I'm an album guy. Now if I just wanted that new Ke$ha song along with some virus's then limewire would make sense.
| |
You know you guys can actually buy cds right?
| |
viruses are always fun
time to put on Deltron 3030-Virus
| |
limewire was so good fuck it rocked so hard
| |
lol buying cds unless they'worth it lol
| |
I guess limewire is cool if your the bare-backing a whore type of guy.
| |
2003 doesn't know what to do with itself.
| |
funny thing is, i work in a record store too. and i download music. see the irony?
| |
Lol limewire...
| |
I just think it's fucked up to download music because some of my favorite bands have broken up due to not making enough money...
| |
The RIAA is such a joke. Downloading music arguably helps record sales.
| |
Who even uses limewire anymore? Well done RIAA, way to take out the big guys. As long as mediafire keeps running we'll all be fine.
| |
yeah. most bands make more profit off of concerts and merchandising than the actual music itself.
| |
Limewire was cool in 2003 I guess. Who uses those clients anymore? Frostwire/Kazaa/Limewire? Small children and old people. it has to be.
| |
Everyone seems to be forgetting about megaupload here...
| |
The RIAA is such a joke. Downloading music arguably helps record sales. [2]
Major artists with singles like Gaga hate this and are losing big money but in all honesty more artists are helped by this then hurt. Can't tell you how many concerts and bands I've supported that I wouldn't have had I not downloaded their album to check'em out.
| |
Think of how screwed a lot of underground artists would be if music lovers couldn't download their music. I for one like to own physical copies of albums I like. I would never buy an album on a whim that I might enjoy it.
| |
lol kazaa hell yea anyone remember imesh
| |
if a band or record company gets pissy about illegally downloading music, the first thing they should worry about is "Do we suck?"
| |
WHERE WILL I GO TO GET THE LATEST RIHANNA SONG NOW!1!
No seriously, Limewire? What is this, 1872?
| |
Yes, it's 1872.
| |
what banana said.
| |
how the fuck did you people get viruses from limewire? are you dumb?
| |
*Glances at avatar* When I was 12 I was.
| |
I think Isohunt's twitter feed said it all
"Who is (was) using Limewire?"
| |
I honestly think downloading helps more than it hurts. I'm an artist and I give my music away for free because it attracts more
people to your gigs if they've heard you before. And who uses Limewire anymore???
| |
A reminder that http://libble.me is still open for sign ups
| |
Well, they got Limewire. Only 500 to go.
| |
"Who is (was) using Limewire?"
Haha. People with bad taste who just want the latest Black Eyed Peas single or something? I could always spot if someone listened to shitty music by just glancing at their desktop and seeing if that little green logo was there.
| |
Stopped using this years ago.
| |
I too only used Kazaa Lite and Morpheus. Never got into Limewire. Now, skilled google searching does my bidding.
| |
http://torrentfreak.com/great-alternatives-to-limewire-101027/
| |
I thought this was a music site. Haven't you peoplez heard of torrents? Much better selection than rar/zip files.
| |
theyll never take my precious mediafire
| |
Long time no see Rique
| |
So mediafire, what's up.
| |
Mediafire is the best.
| |
only way to go
| |
I used to work in a computer lab. So many people would come in with viruses from using limewire.
| |
bailamos
havent had the same amount of free internets time to sputnik and dl all my music like i used to but the library is open late so i can use their wi-fi.
| |
My love has returned.
| |
6 more comments till Josh D. creates another one of those 666th comment lists. called it.
| |
I made a 666 list?
| |
So why did you lose your 13,000-ish comments in the first place?
| |
I was told it's a site bug. I'm trying to get it all back, but I have to wait for Ferwerda to be on the site.
And it was over 18,000.
| |
Shit, dude. How long have you been here?
| |
Over 5 years.
| |
If mediafire shuts down I'm going to start selling crack to support my musical needs.
| |
RIP
| |
mi amor josh d
mediafire/winrar combo is all you need
| |
I've been doing my winRAR thing since about 2006.
| |
for anyone that can't find rare albums online, i've find this blog searching tool immensely useful. It searches through millions of blogs to find posts of artsits/albums. It usually helps when you can't find it on a certain file hosting website.
http://www.captaincrawl.com/
| |
Love to see them collect that many damages.
| |
Fuck yeah for torrents and mediafire.
| |
Let's get more skin with milk mouth.
| |
pfffft Limewire
| |
Ohno maybe people might have to start downloading songs above 128kbps!
| |
Or maybe even ALBUMS, God forbid.
| |
What if mediafire goes next though?
Interesting fact. In business today we learned that since the creation of the internet "indie" (not the music but in the broadest sense possible) sales have actually increased by an exponential amount. So I did a bit of research. Turns out far more copies of Captain Beefheart- Trout Mask Replica have been sold since the internet then before it.
So basiclly the internet makes good artists make money and bad artists lose money.
| |
Mediafire won't get shut down because it's not for music hosting, it's just general free file hosting, and they generally take down all copyrighted material and most .rars that aren't titled in acronyms.
| |
Fuck limewire.
| |
Yeah I was surprised that this only just happened.
| |
Yeah I mean this was coming for years. I honestly dread the day this happens to mediafire/rapidshare/etc. I'm not sure if ever will but that would really cause me some problems.
| |
rapidshare can foad
| |
I mostly meant one click file hosting in general but yeah mediafire is the best.
| |
Back in 2007 (I was late) it took me about three days to download Bohemian Rhapsody. When it finished all I got was white noise.
Good riddance
| |
Yeah I mean this was coming for years. I honestly dread the day this happens to mediafire/rapidshare/etc. I'm not sure if ever will but that would really cause me some problems.
um
Mediafire won't get shut down because it's not for music hosting, it's just general free file hosting, and they generally take down all copyrighted material and most .rars that aren't titled in acronyms.
| |
im gonna fuck rapidshare
| |
I've noticed recently that once I click download from Mdiafire, I'll get a popup pretty frequently (and I have great popup protection in place using Chrome). Still though, Mediafire's without a doubt the best, as theirs no waiting times (...looking in your direction Rapidshare, Megaupload, Hotfile, Depositfile, ect...).
| |
lol limewire, havent used it for years.
| |
Chrome. The porn connoisseur's browser of choice
| |
why the fuck is 150000 the minimum?!
| |
The kids will not like this at all
| |
what is this neurotic obssession with mediafire? just get stuff from blogs and dont give a shit about what file sharing site they use
| |
Limewire? Lolwut?
| |
da fuck shut down the ministry of love?
| |
@fade mediafire is one of the few file sharing sites that has not wait time , and allow simultaneous downloads for free. at reasonable speeds hence the obsession
| |
Now where will I get "Blur_-_Woo_Hoo.mp3" in 96kbps?
| |
wwho cares about this crap now anyway...
| |
mediafire is one of the few file sharing sites that has not wait time , and allow simultaneous downloads for free. at reasonable speeds hence the obsession ok cool have fun limiting yourself to only stuff uploaded to mediafire then
| |
The internet helps a lot of lesser known musicians expand their audience through review sites and websites that provide free previews under the artist and label's discretion, like Myspace. However, illegal downloads cost musicians and labels of all sizes a lot of money. I don't really care if anyone downloads music, but it's annoying when people try to rationalize it by convincing themselves that it's actually helping.
| |
lol there hasn't been many albums I couldn't find on mediafire, if its not on there then I'll just find it somewhere else lol. not a problem
| |
2006:
NO! OH FUCKING CHRIST, NO! NOT LIMEWIRE!
2010:
Who cares?
| |
"I did not have sexual realtions with that woman"
Remember that 'song' you kept downloading by accident? eh, limewire.
| |
Good thing I use realplayer
| |
the final figure could potentially extend to hundreds of millions.
what the fuck for? what could possibly give them the rights to such a sum in a time of recession?
| |
Happy 3rd Birthday what.cd !!
| |
hurray!!
| |
ok cool have fun limiting yourself to only stuff uploaded to mediafire then
No....people were just saying that mediafire > all the other ones, not that it's the only one they use. I've gone to download something (never having used the site before) and after waiting like 5 mins, it tells me "You have reached your download limit for today, please wait 90 mins and try again."
| |
All the cool kids moved on to bigger, better downloads anyway.
| |
LimeWire sucks anyway. When there's high quality torrents, who the hell needs low quality limewired songs :P
| |
torrents ftw
| |
Yeah.
| |
limewire is so 2004
| |
I've seen regular people be fined hundreds of thousands for downloading. This guy (group/whatever) made some money at least.
| |
No....people were just saying that mediafire > all the other ones, not that it's the only one they use. that's not the impression i get from most users unless 'mediafire' has suddenly become synonymous with 'blogspot' without me noticing
| |
I use many different ones through blogspots as well.
| |
People still use Limewire?
| |
does anyone still use soulseek anymore? I used that back in middle school I think.
I think it goes like this Torrents>any downloadable service even mediafire...
| |
I use mediafire and soulseek. Also from blogsites.
| |
Doesn't everybody just use torrent software to get music?
| |
I remember pirating a bunch of Greenday, Blink 182, System of a Down, Tool and Offspring back in those Kazaa days(13 years old) but I never got into limewire. I had already moved to torrents I guess.
| |
Torrents are way easier to track than Mediafire. Even the IRAA gave up trying to catch people
downloading from Mediafire.
| |
torrents aren't as good as mediafire, plus mediafire is just so god damn easy.
type in album you want + zip and press download = done in like 20 seconds
| |
Yup.
| |
Yup.
| |
even though i haven't used limewire since like 2007, i'll miss it
| |
Yup.
| |
@Thirtysixchambers
What.cd is tits. Definitely best.
| |
Megaupload, Rapidshare, Mediafire I use all 3. . . not that anyone cares
| |
Nope.
| |
http://www.informationisbeautiful.net/2010/how-much-do-music-artists-earn-online/
The goal of albums is to help you hear about the music so you go to the shows. Which is where the label gets the money to keep the band signed. The band themselves are not even guaranteed money from the tour if they get a contract that doesn't state it. The band signs a contract which includes how long they have to work for the label, how many albums they have to release (which leads to many rushed and crappy albums), and how much of a salary they get paid.
Be the legal hero all you want, the band sees next to nothing from album sales, their money comes from a contract with a label. Downloading will not make a band go broke, but if they are signed to a major label (such as Hurt was for Vol. 1 and 2) and you are a fairly unknown band who is also not drawing people to gigs then they will drop you. A lot of that on top of it is how willing a label is to invest into the artist as well. A better marketing campaign = more sales and downloads = more fans = better turnout at shows = equals more money for the label. Proof of this would be Hurt actually. Poorly advertised, lackluster support at shows dominated by other, major rock bands, and lots of downloading resulted on them being dropped from Capitol. Afterwards they released GttM independently on their managers label, and are still a healthy, working band.
Downloading -is- illegal, but don't bullshit people by telling them that the artist is losing millions of dollars because of it.
| |
@TheBloodTypo - I'll never be cool on here T.T
| |
mediafire [23411]
| |
nooooo how will i ever get free music again
| |
lol 13 year olds.
mediafire, ftw
| |
"The Pirate Bay will never fall..."
Has anyone ever read their letters to people threatening to sue? They tell Dreamworks to go fuck themselves.
| |
They are crackin' down now
| |
LOLOLOL at how many people i discovered still using Limewire, and then saying oh lets use Frostwire
| |

really a testament to how stupid the RIAA is
| |
Cracked is THE site. And yes it does.
| |
LOL at the music industry still pretending it's the year 2000 instead of keeping up with consumers.
idiots..
| |
Limewire...lol.
| |
utorrent
| |
Mediafire!
| |
mediafire is the only way to go but the RIAA is accomplishing alot. i didnt realize how many people i know use limewire until it shutdown
| |
...and this shut-down affects anyone how?
| |
It doesn't affect me, so, whatevs
| |
i fucking hated using limewire. i always wanted the full album so i had to look for each song...it sucked. rapidshare, megaupload, and mediafire all fuckin day.
| |
Lol, doesn't affect me. I buy my music.
I don't really care lol.
| |
I buy music too, but I have to preview it first, you know?
| |
www.filestube.com
Fuck all that other noise.
| |
fuckin music. how does it work?
| |
"I guess limewire is cool if your the bare-backing a whore type of guy."
Hahah JWT wins thread.
Also, I wonder if they're going to force Limewire to give up records, then go back through the past users raping the shit out of people? Can they do that? If so, FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU-
| |
lol used be on this shit back then. it's like an end of an era, at least until the next file sharing website comes.
| |
'merica. Fuck yeah.
| |
meh, as long as the RIAA stay this far behind us it's cool. But labels can't use last century's business model anyway, I mean short of corporate/government control of the internet (I'm looking at you North Korea) there's no way to suppress illegal downloads indefinitely.
and yeah mediafire ftw.
| |
I miss those mp3s that had the same 20 seconds looped again and again.
Can remember being at a friend's house and him saying, "listen to this new White Stripes album - it's good but really repetitive". FFS.
| |
Yeah, Limewire rocked so hard. My old 2003 PC will never be the same.
I like mediafire the most, especially when I find a user who likes all the same music I do.
| |
goooood thing i dont use limewire. mediafire ftw
| |
