Better than most things off Homesick

1 min preview sucked though.

FTWHH was a consistent album all the way through. Now they alternate between heavy song, pop-punk
song, heavy song, etc and it's bullshit. They always try to write "to be heavy".

This kinda made me chuckle.

heard both this track and the teaser for the other one. they're not that great, but All I Want is so catchy. "Keep your hopes up high and your head down low" is stuck in my head. I was hoping instead of doing half heavy songs, half soft songs on the album they would mix them in each song like they used to......

It's ADTR. Expectations don't get lower.

don't know what all the adtr hate is about. they aren't very good, but this is, by no means, any worse than a bunch of shit you guys think is "all right" or "ok."

song was all right. seems like they're going even further with the disparity between heavy songs and poppy songs though, which gets old really fast.

after listening to this some more times I've decided that its pretty fantastic, looking forward to this album.

Sue me, they've made some decent music. Homesick was hit or miss. Who cares. The song wasn't that bad. Catchy. A little generic. But not "bad" by any means.

Officially not excited about this. Sounds really generic and uninspired. I would consider myself a "fan" of adtr and still can't even bring myself to defend the song at all. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't even call this a passable song...

Damn dude calm down. The band sucks ok?

His voice def sounds rougher. Not as "lofty" as previous records. And yeah but the difference with this is it sounded awkward, not as catchy as their other radio rock-y songs. "Right Where You Want Me To Be" had some catchy vocal patterns. This chorus is OK but isn't anything to spout over. I also liked the pop punk songs with heavy parts rather than half a CD pop half a CD "heavy"

No it won't be good, it'll just be average. These guys are a gimmick now. Treason and for those who have heart were good releases. Homesick was lame and this is average. But they cater to high school scene kids now so whatever.

I bet if they slapped a breakdown in the middle of the new single, everybody complaining how generic this would suddenly love this song. I like ADTR, but eeeevery previous song haaad to have a breakdown in it. For example, I like FTWHH in bits and pieces, but I can't listen to the album as a whole because every fucking song structure is the same, so it gets way too predictable. Personally I like the new single; its catchy, the vocals are good, and not having a breakdown shows some much needed variety. The sample sounded pretty sick too, I like heavy ADTR, just not in the same form every song.

you must be new to this site. Let me explain things to you. Everyone here hates breakdowns...infact we can do a correlation chart to show just how true this statement is;

The amount of breakdowns used, has a direct effect on the rating..lowering it substantially. so in laymen's terms, more breakdowns? less perceived skill by this community.

Just sayin that Four Year Strong's a looooot better at this stuff than ADTR is. I enjoy FTWHH, but Homesick was pretty bad and this sounds even worse.

i agree that FYS does the genre a little better though, im just saying why not let ADTR spew out some enjoyable tracks every once in a while as well. I know there will be at least a few on this album that I'll like so whatevs.

FTWHH is even more generic than Homesick. I love both. But people who like one and not the other to me are weird. And because ADTR was there before FYS. That's why. Also people like FYS better because they DON'T always rely on breakdowns to be heavy.

It's a very simple correlation.

The more Popular you get, usually the more generic (to become more appealing) you become. Some bands don't do it, they're the true "In it for the music" musicians. But those are few and far in between.

Wait for the album before bashnig. On every ADTR albums there is one or two Pop-Punk song and this will be the one. 2nd Sucks is at all oposite so the coming album will be as the others. All I Want is pretty good in is genre I think. As Andcas said wait for the brokeNCYDe album to criticize :P

i still have fairly high hopes for this album, i reckon this band gets way too much hate, sure, their last album wasn't the best thing ever, but this band has done pretty well.
FYS and New Found Glory do have the better end of playing this style of music, i must say, but ADTR have done well bringing some hardcore into the mix.

if there is hate, we should direct it at Brokencyde or Bring me the Horizon, they're not relevant to this, but they are just really terrible and should get more hate.

i'm just sayin'!
