Looks like he just copypasta'd from a band or label post.

Still wondering what that art will look like, but looking even more towards that album.
|
| |
My most anticipated album of this year.
|
| |
Is define the line or whatever it's called the best place to start with these guys? I need to check them out someday
|
| |
excited but guarded
|
| |
looking forward for this soooo much
|
| |
@Eko, start with either Define the Great Line or Lost in the Sound of Separation, there's not much difference in accessibility in either of them. they're both much better than They're Only Chasing Safety though.
|
| |
@Eko - I would start with LitSoS, personally.
|
| |
start with Cries of the Past then move on in chronological order.
this album will fucking own
|
| |
"creatively ambitious"... really?
This band hasn't been the same since Dallas. But maybe with Aaron gone they will make something groundbreaking. Though the post-hardcore-screamo genre is pretty well defined as being incredibly stale.
They scream more... it's metalcore.
Better guitar work... it's old funeral for a friend.
More singing... it's circa.
More Chug!... Emmure.
All the about... creatively ambitious.
|
| |

You're so obviously new lol. Listen to some real screamo.
|
| |
^hey i like circa/some metalcore. HEY YOU
|
| |
lol you should see the 'screamo kids' at jesus freak hideout
i think i got banned for calling them out
|

|

is painthethane trolling? i honestly can't tell.
|
| |
Listen to some real screamo.
No. Seriously don't.
|
| |
yay
|
| |
screamo sucks for the most part
Rosa Parks demonstrating again why he needs to fuck off
|
| |
DTGL would be a better start than LiTSoS.
|
| |
I like DTGL more that LiTSoS personally, but they're both pretty good, super-psyched for this though! no Aaron will be a step forward I think!
|
| |
I'm really anticipating this
|
| |
i think TOCS is more accessible than DTGL or LITSOS for people trying to get into underoath, mostly because there's more singing and it's more catchy.
but i started with DTGL, so.
looking forward to this. do want now.
|
| |
this is probably going to rule.
|
| |
it will fucking dominate 2010
|
| |
1 - the updates are generally nothing special.
2 - As far as drumming goes.... Daniel > Aaron
3 - I saw them recently and they played two new ones... both of which were fantastic
4 - this should probably be the best UO record to date.
|
| |
good
|
| |
@bringonthebreakdown
every time I see you comment I look at your profile picture and go damn that's fine haha
|
| |
I'm afraid that the drumming is going to be generic double-bass metalcore stuff. One of my favorite parts of Underoath was Aaron's unconventional drumming.
|
| |
Already pre-ordered.
I can't wait!! It had better be good!
|
| |
I don't think that Underoath is willing to be conventional.
|
| |
I certainly hope not. I have a good feeling about the album though.
|
| |
No Daniel is good. If you want other assurance, he did the drums for Colour Revolt's newest release. Not only is the CD awesome but his drums are great as well. And then of course norma jean. I didn't think the two new ones I heard were too conventional.
|
| |
on a side note, i fucking hate norma jean.
so. i hope i don't hate this..
|
| |
haha yeah norma jean hasn't really been good since scogin left.
|
| |
Oh, I forgot that he was in Norma Jean. They're probably one of the closest (or at least used to be) to Underoath's current sound.
|
| |
Trying to go in with no expectations so that no matter what, the result will be positive.
|
| |
Ø
|
| |
I'm under oath to buy this album. HAR HAR der DER HERP DERP.
|
| |
I am so stoked for this, I was glad to see them move on with Aaron just because I preferred Spencer's cleans. Plus the new drummer is just as good if not better.
|
| |
This is gonna rule omg 2010 is awesome.
|
| |
Been stoked about this for a while now, should be amazing.
|
| |
Check This guys:

Great read, thanks for the link (from their fb status I take it).
|
| |
great 2010 year for music
i think this will be up there with diamond eyes
|
| |
Hopefully won't suck, oh wait, it's Underoath
|
| |

Agreed 100%

Agreed, but still getting my hopes up.

|
| |
I seriously doubt the rest of the band would let Daniel get away with generic double bass wankery.
They've replaced him with Aaron for a reason.
|
| |
No, they replaced Aaron with him.
|
| |
i cant wait. im the biggest underoath fan and im really looking forward to moving on without whiney voiced aaron
|
| |
i cant wait. im the biggest underoath fan and im really looking forward to moving on without whiney voiced aaron
Two things wrong with that.
1. I am the biggest Underoath fan.
2. Aaron was awesome. I will admit he was whiney at times, but his drumming was part of UO's signature sound and may have been an important piece in the songwriting.
They may still be really good after Aaron, but that does not mean that Aaron was holding them back.
|
| |
you sure do feel a need to correct people a lot. that insecure?
|
| |
aaron was awesome, but i'm kinda glad he is gone. i could picture their sound getting stale if he had of stayed.
|
| |
Well when people say stupid things, I point it out.
|
| |
you sure do feel a need to correct people a lot. that insecure?
No you just feel the need to be that stupid that he needs to correct
you.
EDIT: beat me to it maniac
|
| |
Mordecai, that is a good point. This is their make it or break it album. Can't wait.
|
| |
"No you just feel the need to be that stupid that he needs to correct you."
Convict, you just made my day.
|
| |
im stupid because i have an opinion? okay, that makes sense, dumbass.
|
| |
Lol. You were not giving Aaron the credit he deserved. I pointed it out.
|
| |
I dunno, the band could have asked Aaron to shut his mouth on this album and we'd still have the badass drumming.
But I understand what you're saying, I feel the same about the sound getting stale over time.
|
| |
because i thought he was whiney im not giving him credit? thats dumb
|
| |
yet someone says the band may have gotten stale if aaron stayed in it, and you supported him? both are opinions that basically say that we're glad he is gone. stop talking out of both sides of your mouth
|
| |
Your statement sounded like you were saying that all he did was sing with a whiny voice.
|
| |
thats what you took from it but thats not what i said.
|
| |
Yes, I agreed with him because his post actually made a valid point rather than just saying one of the key members had a whiny voice and he was glad hes gone
|
| |
[insert fanboy argument here]
It's too early for this. I haven't had my metaphorical coffee yet.
|
| |
Lol. I'm done here. I forgot I was arguing with a 14 year old.
|
| |
"Yes, I agreed with him because his post actually made a valid point rather than just saying one of the key members had a whiny voice and he was glad hes gone"
okay i get that but you just called me stupid for having an opinion. that doesnt make sense at all.
|
| |
I didn't call you stupid. I said you said something stupid. Learn to read.
|
| |
okay i get that but you just called me stupid for having an opinion. that doesnt make sense at all.
Neither does calling him insecure for defending his opinion.

|
| |
feels good man
|
| |
I'm leaving this is getting kind of creepy.
|
| |
Lol. YOU HOMOPHOBE YOU
|
| |
It still amazes me that they could come back so strong after releasing an album like TOCS.
|
| |
But... TOCS was great
|
| |
this band is so lame
|
| |
Kiss my ass, fothermucker
|
| |
TOCS was pretty generic no matter how you slice it. It was like they castrated the entire band. It had some good songs but it doesn't hold a candle to the albums that came before and after it.
|
| |

Needs moar bluesicians
|

Yes, I agree. But... For the genre it was a part of, it still was an excellent album.
|
| |
Needs moar bluesicians [2]
|

The Changing of Times had a pretty similar style on certain tracks though.
|

B.B. King>>>Underoath

inb4 200 comments of progthunder and Maniac
I'll agree that for the genre it was pretty good. And that TCOT had a similar style in part
|

"B.B. King>>>Underoath

Must...Not...Hack..Computer...
|
| |
I enjoyed this band until I saw them live...that many 12 year old scene kids would just about do it for anyone. Didn't My Chemical Romance die a long time ago?
|
| |
nothing this band does is good
|
| |
maniac arent you supposed to be in school
|
| |
"nothing this band does is good"
I AM GOING TO DESTROY YOU
|
| |
"maniac arent you supposed to be in school"
I'm homeschooled, bitch.
|
| |
What did you expect from proggy, Maniac? Logic?
|
| |
Skool ain't kool.
@Maniac: DAMN RIGHT HOMESCHOOLIN' IS WHERE IT'S AT!
|
| |
"What did you expect from proggy, Maniac? Logic?"
I know, I know. Logic is too much to ask of anyone.
|
| |
@Pit
well actually I expect your 'baby' that you are apparently having to have three heads, as we all know you shouldn't have kids with your sister
especially when the sister is 13 years old
|
| |
That was a dick thing to say, Craig.
|
| |
lol proggy is the biggest bag of douche on sputnik.
|
| |
i dont care
I hate Pit
If he's starting a family he should stop trolling a music website
asshole needs to grow up
|

Not so much a dick thing, just a horribly structured sentence, let alone an insult.
|
| |
"lol proggy is the biggest bag of douche on sputnik."
and dont you forget it
and @Convict I love your avatar
|
| |
there is nothing wrong with the syntax of that sentence, except maybe a question of what tense I was in

Underoath rules, can't wait for the album. Later guys.
|

double post ftw
|
| |
@proggy: thx bro.
|
| |
I just hope they don't screw up the artwork; DtGL and LitSoS both had great artwork
|
| |
Real double post ftw!
|

FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

"i dont care

I am infinitely more excited after watching the updates

most anticipated for me of 2010 along with the new Lower Definition album
|
| |
This will probably be my AOTY. Then I will actually make a 2010 list
|
| |
If DGD comes out this year it will definitely be better. But this will rule.
|
| |
nvm, that's not till april :c
|
| |
interested in uo still
|
| |
Can't believe how much sputnik faps over this garbage band
|
| |
they have one good album rest is shit
|
| |
Yeah, I tried that "one good album" and it chewed large chunks of black dick
|
| |
all their albums range from crap to shit
fix'd
|
| |
Asiatic needs to learn how to music
|
| |
I'm pretty excited for this, especially after reading that early review someone linked up here. It sounds like I've always thought they should. I just hope they don't turn into Norma Jean.
|
| |
Will destroy all.
|
| |
their current style is similar to norma jean somewhat, especially now that aaron is gone.
also on a side note, anyone heard new Tides Of Man? Sounds amazing.
|
| |
It seems like a lot of bands are going that way lately, with the whole "getting darker" thing. Most of the time, it just don't work out.
|
| |
album's gonna rule
|
| |
shut up fool

Another review from the listening party:

|
| |
poopy.
|
| |
"The style of drumming on this record blew me away, much more than the previous record. You could tell that it was definitely not Aaron, both in the what was actually played and how it sounded. Talking to Underoath’s new drummer, Daniel Davidson, I asked him about his biggest music influences. His first response was “The Deftones,” and the record I had just listened to all of sudden made more sense to me. "
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS
