There's not that big of a difference in quality between them.

Well the band is pretty screwed at this point, if they backtrack then people will know it and probably hate it, and their new sound sucks.

i'm not even sure if i should check this out. the nostalgia of the meteora days make me want to, but recent stuff are driving me away from it. eh...

Highly doubt this will be a shitty pop album. UK's XFM radio station got a 6-track sampler from the new album, and from the DJ's point of view, the album focuses on a lot more hip hop and progressive rock. I'm not hyping this up, because every fucking LP release was a hype, and the last one ended up being a pile of dump. Hopefully, this will be something better.

Anyone remember the hype before MTM? I recall Mike boasting that they had taken a "punk rock"
direction, whilst still remaining true to their roots. Like that ever happened...

Something else that bugs me is how on 2005's Fort Minor LP, Mike mentions that their label tried to
stop him from rapping and he boasted how stupid they looked for suggesting it after Hybrid Theory
turned out to be so successful. 2 years later, what did we get? An album featuring only 2 songs in
which Mike raps, and one of them was dismal anyway... Sell out much?

I'm hoping for a re-tread as well, but it won't happen.

Around 2000 everything was so nu-metal alternative fresh and cool and then suddenly why did everyone get like so into solos and classical rock shit? I hate it when greedy music corporations decide the direction of music.

I don't think any actual musicians can criticisze this band, if you heard Minutes 2 Midnite ud know what I'm talking about. Like how when the piano is played, I think it's very nice. I think you should all listen for that piano - it's a nice sound!
