most melodic song theyve ever done imo. expectations for this album are pretty good.
| |
I think that's pretty awful.
| |
song was top. Album might actually be good.
| |
Not bad at all
So far though from what I've heard from the new album i think i prefer 'The Common Man's Collapse'
| |
Seconded. Nothing too horrible, but deffinetly not intersting
| |
song was incredibly boring
| |
the singer of this band could not look any more queer. he constantly swoops his hair to the side and looks more like the relient k singer than anyone else in metalcore.
| |
Still chuggin' like Meshuggah, I see.
The melodies seemed a bit flat and without any punch. Needs more harmonization and layering on them guitars.
| |
Don't have high expectations for this album at all and I actually liked the last two records.
| |
It's ridiculous how good a band has to be for people to even think they're okay nowadays.
I think this is pretty great though
| |
Song rules what are u guys talking about
| |
dudes in this band are cool guys, music's pretty unoriginal though. I used to play shows with them back in the day, song is standard fare for VoM
| |
Pretty cool song actually
| |
Sounds like a little bit of a throwback to the All Things Set Aside days, which is a good thing.
| |
"It's ridiculous how good a band has to be for people to even think they're okay nowadays." ~syco722
Go listen to their debut album, and then listen to the HUNDREDS of other albums from around the world that sound just like it. It is generic deathcore, not even considered "okay" by many.
| |
not sure this sounds much like Rose Funeral or anyone like that.
| |
there are no bands that sound like veil of maya. what a toolbag
| |
They seem to be trying to step outside of the box but some of the breakdowns are laughable.
Perfect for giving a person a headache though.
| |
this band rules. idk if i'd call them metalcore or not though.
| |

Their debut "ALl things set aside" was probably one of the more original sounds in death metal to date. Everything from the unconventional production to the song structures to the bazaar chords they created was so far from generic. They took influences from many genres and made them flow perfectly. Sputnik users have the most ridicules opinions about music, the new album sounds like their combining the sounds created on their first 2 albums, I have incredibly high hopes for this one.

borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrinnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggg
| |
There's bands like Opeth, Cynic, and Augury around and you're trying to tell me that a few scene kids from Chicago are making some of the most original music EVER!
I rest my case.
| |
Lovely dig circa
| |
they aren't scene kids though
| |
Gib, i can see your vagina.
| |
Oops, double post. :D
| |
That was dumb. No witty comment, no joke, that was just dumb.
| |
I don't mind this band.
| |
Thier myspace colour layout is freaking trippy as...
| |
That was quite good actually. Whole band is good but nothing amazing.
| |
is ok
| |
Song was pretty good, I enjoyed it.
| |
Meh.
| |
I enjoyed their last album. This sounds mediocre though.
| |
Copy-Paste...they recycle a lot of their composition...
| |
The ideas are thought out pretty well, but the execution is somewhat odd. The drums have been doing a ton of tom work, but it almost feels forced like, "I can't blast this song. I can't do much double bass this song." I think the variation is good, but I definitely feel like it's forced with the newer stuff..
| |
there are no bands that sound like veil of maya. what a toolbag
lol
| |
Copy-Paste...they recycle a lot of their composition...
i was thinking the same
| |

I rest my case.
all those bands sound the same tho
| |
hand over my prize, woman.
| |
Congrats weareshadenow. You officailly win the stupidest comment of the day award.
Congrats Mewcopa. You officially win the most ironic (given the situation) and therefore stupidest post on Sputnikmusic award.
| |
Congr....
Shut the hell up.
| |
How do Augury and Opeth sound anything alike?
| |
i dont know what your talking about.
| |
Let me rephrase that:
How do Opeth and Augury sound anything alike?
| |
what are you talking about? i dont know.
| |
Hm. Looks like you can't even follow your own conversation. You said Cynic, Augury, and Opeth all sound the same. So I'm asking how.
| |
my conversation? your not in it?
| |
Breakdowns are laughable? Most of the breakdowns have whack time signatues which is still rarely used in 'metalcore' or so they call them and follow patterns that require several listens to even make sense of, what the fuck is everyone talking about I think this is absolutely tops.
| |
Nope, most of the breakdowns are still half-speed.
| |
I could fart in a microphone, record it, and produce it. That's "original," isn't it?
That aside these guys are decent. I love "We Bow In Its Aura"
| |
Well, I have to admit the competition has been tight this year. I worked hard but I really don't deserve this. I would like to donate it to someone more deserving, any ideas?
I know you worked hard. That is why you got the award. You totally deserve it.
I mean... How many people can say they made a some post saying another is "officially" stupid while misspelling the word "officially"?
| |
@weareshadenow: Are you from Pittsburgh? Orgone is a local band from my neck of the woods.
| |
sweet, they are pretty epic
| |
Yeah man super good. If you're into them, check out another band from my area called Kamikabe.
| |
make me
| |
Rats!
