Nice to see Robert Smith wait for a completely terrible movie to do something solo. Because that is what this is going to be. Charlie/choc factory, Planet of the Apes.. c'mon now.

It's a kids' movie... the soundtrack makes perfect sense.

it's not only a kid movie, but a tim burton movie. i'm surprised all you are surprised, basically

It really isn't all that much of a kids movie if Tim Burton is directing it. I mean, it is, but it isn't.

I don't really see Tim Burton films as kids' movies, although I guess they always have a clear cut moral to the story. They're always so dark and gothic though.

Tim Burton needs to figure out that to give a movie a darker tone you don't necessarily need to make the environment look stupid. This movie looks really really bad.

Both The All-American Rejects and The Plain White T's also appeared on the revised soundtrack of The Nightmare Before Christmas... And I must say, I really enjoyed their versions on the songs, although I hate their own albums. So as long as its written by Danny Elfman, I'm looking forward to it!

They're always so dark and gothic though.

Yeah, no crap, and he gets all the credit for that, instead of his production designers. And He didn't even direct NIGHTMARE, Henry Selick did.
But Big Fish, Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, Sweeney Todd are all fantastic, and some of the best mainstream movies of the past 2 decades, in my opinion

Ah fuck, if Burton actually likes this crap then I will confidently screw his ears until he goes deaf because he's obviously not using them appropriately for a man of his age.
Tim Burton is a good director, he has some insanely good films to his name, but I do wish people would stop giving him credit for Nightmare Before Christmas. NOBODY (not a single person) believes me when I say he didn't direct it.
He fucking didn't people, he only wrote the story. Check out the IMDB page if you don't believe me
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107688/
This often leads onto arguments about Coraline (Selick's new film) which everybody thinks Burton directed, when he really had nothing to do with it.

Alice In Wonderland is supposed to be a Disney movie, so they are gearing the soundtrack towards a young audience that likes catchy but terrible pop music. I don't know why that surprises anyone.

But I really wanna see this movie anyways. It looks beautiful.

Alice In Wonderland is a DISNEY MOVIE I don't understand why everyone is so surprised that the soundtrack is compromised of such shit. This is what most people enjoy listening to, and will therefore make a lot more money. I'm sure they are more convinced with making cash than making anything with high amounts of musical quality.

They're trying to target the 10-18 year old demographic. Hence the artists, hence the production company (Disney), hence the myspace release.

.. hence Robert Smith? Yeah, that part doesn't make sense, lol!
