The Big Four To Tour?

2009-09-12 by FadeToBlack | 51 Comments
In a recent interview with UK metal magazine Metal Hammer, guitarist Kerry King says that he has heard that Lars Ulrich (drummer for Metallica) is planning a tour involving Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax.

"I've heard people referencing Lars," said King. "I don't know Lars that well and I haven't heard it from Lars, but apparently he's talking to somebody about it. Maybe us, METALLICA, MEGADETH (and), I think he even threw in ANTHRAX and I said in this day and age, I know we had that time together, but how do you leave out MACHINE HEAD? There's better options than ANTHRAX and that's nothing against ANTHRAX, but they've just been in pieces for quite some time and that doesn't make as much sense to me."

This would be the greatest concert experience ever. I agree about Testament, they made a guest appearance at a show I was at a few years back, they fucking tore up.

This would be such a crazy show. Minus the fact that upper level tickets would probably start around $150.

why would you want upper level tickets in the first place?

Get Anvil in instead of Anthrax

*only saying this after watching the Anvil documentary last night*

Regardless of who the fourth wheel turns out to be, a tour like that would RULE!

I wouldn't, I would want lower level like I got last time I saw Metallica. My point was if upper levels are that much lower ones would be ridiculously pricey.

Despite their talents being in question, Anthrax was included for being part of that big four of thrash...right timing I suppose, but they were part of that, we'll have to deal.

Kerry King is still a moron

Anthrax sucks some big hairy donkey balls these days. Machine Head wouldn't fit the tour since they carried the flag after the heyday of these 80s thrash outfits. I would much rather see Voivod because they destroy all three of the other bands in a heart beat.

Dark Angel, Death Angel, Testament, Sodom, Kreator > Anthrax.

Still, you can't call it a big four tour without any of the big four.

i would deff go to this cos megadeth probs would play alot of songs off endgame, i like all this bands but its true anthrax has NOTHING to do there, they should up testament or overkill instead

Slayer + Megadeth + Testament + Exodus = Real big 4

German thrashers need to go on tour together. That would be sik, since none of them really ever sold out.

"Anthrax with Belladonna > Testament, Machine Head, Exodus, Overkill, Dark Angel and all the average thrash bands you guys are trying to hype up."

The only thing Anthrax did better than Testament to be included in the Big Four was to start a year and a half earlier. It takes the most dense of fanboys to conclude that talent, more than timing, was the deciding factor in their success.

I still can't see Megadeth and Metallica ever touring together, sorry. If it happens, well then holy shitballs I will do my best to go. I would prefer seeing the actual "Big 4" over a replacement band like Testament, Death Angel or Exodus (even if Testament is the better band these days).

And tickets would be expensive as fuck. I'm seeing Metallica this Thursday with Lamb of God and Gojira and the floor tickets were like $150.
