Singer Attacked/Critical Cond. 2006-07-02 by Stormy Smiley Face | 11 Comments | Billy Bell, frontman of Les Incompetents, got into an arguement on the Number 29 bus in Camden June 22. He left the bus, but was followed, punched in the head, and fell to the ground hitting his head on the pavement.
The man who assaulted the singer is described as a white, dark-haired man in his late twenties and was wearing a white shirt with blue jeans. It is believed the man had an Australian accent.
Billy went through a successful five-hour operation, but is still in serious condition.
DS Sean Smyth from Islington CID has this to say:
"I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the assault in Camden Road, near Brecknock Road, to come forward. Witnesses reported having seen the suspect laughing as he headed north towards the Holloway Road after the attack."
Passengers on the Number 29 bus just before 23.00 on June 22 have also been asked to come forward.
No arrests have yet been made. Anyone with information has been asked to contact the CID at Islington on 020 7421 0350 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
