Save Paste Magazine!

2009-05-14 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 4 Comments
Iconic music magazine Paste has launched a one-off fund-raising campaign to help itself through the current financial crisis.

Stated editor Josh Jackson stated: "As either I or Gawker might have already mentioned to you, Paste is facing what we hope is a very temporary, one-time financial crisis, and rather than shut the doors, we're asking fans of Paste for help.

"We've launched the Save Paste campaign at http://www.pastemagazine.com/savepaste, where anyone who donates to the cause, in addition to helping us survive the advertising downturn, gets access to download more than 70 rare & exclusive tracks from artists you guys helped secure, like Of Montreal, The Decemberists, Indigo Girls and She & Him.

"We would appreciate any help you guys would be willing to give in spreading the word—through your bands, through Twitter (#savepaste) or to media outlets. The response has been great so far, and we're hopeful that we'll come out of this in good shape.

"We have an FAQ page about the campaign at http://www.pastemagazine.com/paste/save-paste-faqs.html but let me know if you have any other questions. Our editorial staff is continuing business as usual and working feverishly on July and August issues. And our website is as important as ever with pageviews topping 1 million/month for six straight months and still growing steadily.

"We appreciate all you guys do to make our lives easier, even when shrinking pages and personnel over the last year have meant that we've sometimes made yours a little more so. We still believe in the print product and look forward to the day when we're adding content to the magazine again and getting even more of your artists involved."
