I enjoy them, though that's probably just because my father was/is a massive Green Day fan. I remember him playing Dookie for me at age 4.

I'm an 18 year old male who plays guitar, and Listens to music from early 70's to nowardays. So now you can say you know someone who isn't a fangirl and actually loves the band because of their music. (I don't give a flying fuck what they look like)

"American Idiot" is amazing. I've listened to it too much to really be able to stomach it nowadays, but I still recognize it as a great piece of music.
And there's a double-standard in the above topic: it's just as bad to HATE a band for how they look as it is to LIKE a band for the same reason. Half the time, the reason I hear people give for not liking AI is because Green Day started wearing eye-liner and donning black. WTF!? And it's the same with a lot of other bands, as well.
Anyways...I still like the band. I'll see what they do.

I loved American Idiot, but I'm not particually looking forward to hearing new stuff, I've just got the feeling it's going to be a huge let down.

As to the announcement, probably a new song. I'm going to do what no other music fan does and wait for this with no expectations. If it sucks, no big deal. I still have plenty of other new material to listen to. If it rocks, great.

To Alligator: I was talking about personally and not internet. I respect that you actually like the music and that you are a true fan unlike the ones I was talking about. The only reason I called them fans is becaused they call themselves fans, which they have yet to prove. That was my mistake, I should used quotations around the word fan. These fangirls are actually just Billiy Joe fans, not Green Day.

Yeah I understand they have a lot of poser fans, but that's to be expected with any band really. Also the band has yet to put out a bad song in my opinion (Rotting being the only one). Also it's the album AI that got me into music, not the song benzum.

The article is a little misleading. The news didn't say that Green Day actually had a surprise, it just said watch for a surprise. There were probably several people who knew about the Blink reunion for a few days atleast now.
