Skold vs KMFDM Album News 2009-02-06 by Trey STAFF | 10 Comments | Skold vs KMFDM is the collaboration between Tim Skold (SHOTGUN MESSIAH, KMFDM, MARILYN MANSON) and Sascha Konietzko (KMFDM). The band consists of Tim Skold on vocals, programming, live percussion, synth bass and Sascha Konietzko on vocals, programming, analogue synthesizers and sequencers and bass.
Apparently the album was written and recorded without the two of them even being on the same continent. Sasha was able to explain how they even pulled that off by stating, " We constantly bounced stuff back and forth over the server, and with a time-difference of nine hours between us, it turned out that one of us slept while the other one worked and vice-versa, and thus we got two full days of work done in just 24 hours."
The writers gave themselves two rules before starting on the album. The first was that there would be no guitars on the album and the second would be that there would be no "real" drums kits either. Tim Skold assures that it is still "a very electronic album but [that] the majority of the instruments used are actually analog and many of them are not even electric. What we decided to intentionally avoid this time was the traditional electric guitar. This was done to confuse and bewilder our fans. We like to keep them on their toes and many of them appreciate the challenge."
The album is set to be released on April 7 through KMFDM Records.

| | | Way too many interludes.
| | | Yeah, I could see that being an issue. Probably, too, because they're just musical ideas they didn't finish and just wanted to slap on there.
| | | I was just lsitening to KMFDM onmyspace right now befeore even seeing this. Wicked tiger. Going to see if I like KMFDM .
| | | sounds tight, though much modern KMFDM does little for me
| | | this could be amazing. KMFDM may be a little lackluster post-revival, but their pre-breakup albums are the best industrial you can get.
| | | Nothing they have done this decade comes close to A Drug Against War. Still hopeful This Message Edited On 02.07.09
