But then they'd need to record another proggy 70's-era type album to make up for going pop.

I'd highly doubt we'll see any new albums from them, but if they tour... Safe to say I'll be first in line to snap up tickets, sleep doesn't matter to me if seeing Genesis live is on the line!

Yeah I saw them live on the reunion tour and it was amazing... I can't even imagine how awesome they'd be with Gabriel singing instead of Collins.

I doubt this will ever happen. ("in principle I have no real objection, blablablablabal")
but it would be really cool, cause Genesis without Peter Gabriel isn't Genesis. oh, and should he really rejoin, then all the Phil Collins songs should be forgotten and only the old prog classics be played at their concerts ;)

some of collin's genesis songs are good/great. some of them aren't even his songs; don't forget tony banks.

I wonder if this did happen, how much of the theatrical side he'd be able to do now that he's older as watching some old footage, he used to do some really cool stuff live...

He's still a very active guy and his most recent live stuff is still mega theatrical.
