Circle Takes the Square Video

2008-08-17 by Mendigo | 18 Comments
Circle Takes the Square posted a new video blog entry called "Signals in the Smoke" about their upcoming album "Ritual of Names".

It shows the band working in the studio and provides glimpses of the new material as well as some comments on how they're working. Among other things they reveal that the new album will be one big composition divided into seven parts and that it will be part of a bigger project.

"Right now we're working on a record called Ritual of Names. It's one piece of music divided in seven parts that we continue as part of a bigger project called Decomposition"

the video can be watched at: http://ritualofnames.blogspot.com

I'm not 100% sure whether the citation is completely correct, whether he says "THAT we continue" or something else.
however, I only grasped only parts of the second comment, if someone is able to transcrib it, I'd add it.
however, the glimpses of music are terrific, right now I'm pretty sure this will be absolutely great.

Well to start their audience is definitely bigger than 100 people and you have no idea if they do this full time or not. Chances are they bring in money through other means too. This Message Edited On 08.17.08

I've asked myself that question after the Kayo Dot concert in Munich, with an audience of 40 people (and at least a quarter of them came because of the supporting band Wishes on a Plane) and a price of 9 Euro. I mean, they do sell some records and T-Shirts but I can't believe they could make any profit. well, maybe some people really live for their art and don't care about money, but it's still a mystery to me how they earn enough for a living.

Sounds very metallic... moreso than As the Roots Undo. The clip at the end was quite impressive. Also, Kathy is surprisingly hot.

i don't usually watch these studio blog things (i figure the albums would be finished in half the time if they weren't taking breaks from the recording to edit youtube clip type things), but this was kinda intriguing. looking forward to the new album.

I like watching the studio vlogs, you get to see the band and how they act.. unless they act different on the recordings.
