Sony/BMG Piracy Investigation 2008-04-04 by Meatplow | 9 Comments | In a turn-around of the usual run of events regarding major labels and illegal computer activities, Sony/BMG is now under fire for software piracy in France.
A Sony workers request for technical help with a program revealed an illegal serial number, triggering a raid by the Business Software Alliance which uncovered 47% of software being used that could be considered as pirated by definition under French law. French newspaper La Provence was asked not to publicize the story, a request they promptly ignored.
