So I actually heard from someone that there were police and all outside of 930 Club (Washington DC venue) today where their show was canceled but there still hasn't been any statement from the band released as far as I know. Still I'm assuming this is true which absolutely blows. He was so young and nice as were the rest of the guys. RIP

There is nothing about it on there website or myspace. The only places this is announced is absolutepunk and wikipedia. It's possible they are just all in the mourning process still since it JUST happened.

Hey Everyone, You may have already heard, but our remaining shows with Red Jumpsuit Apparatus have been cancelled. This was not our decision, and we're totally bummed as we were looking forward to hitting up South Carolina and Florida. We haven't been to many of these places since Warped Tour (and some even before that). These things happen and it sucks. I'm sure RJA's reasons for the cancellations are good, but that still doesn't make it any better for the people that wanted to come out and see a show.

WHAT THE FUCK?! man i fucking hate this band but that is horrible. he's a young guy, i don't understand how he just passed away in his sleep. oddly enough this is one of the only bands i've seen live and they're from the same city I live in, so this is just really terrible.

I saw these guys this past summer, and he played(and screamed) his heart out. He obviously loved what he did.

Whatever your opinion on the band may be, we should all wish HH all the best and hope they can continue on with their career.

I don't want to seem dramatic or crazy, but given how he was young, aparently healthy, and normal just the night b4... maybe he was murdered by poison. Overdose of some pharmacuical or heavymetal poisoning (no pun intended). People just don't drop dead for no reason, and if he was perfectly fine and healthy 6 hours b4 maybe theres something bad goping on.

Hope I'm wrong though.

I have no problem admitting that I have both of their CDs and that they still found their way into rotation from time to time... it doesn't seem like a very safe time to be a musician right now...

Wow I just found this out last night. Terrible news.

My daughter will never forget Casey--This is her w/ Casey when HAwthorne Heights performed there in Scranton PA in 2006!! He was a warm and wonderful person--and will be sadly missed!!

Some friends of mine played a show with them the night he died. They said he seemed perfectly fine, and the whole band were really cool and down to earth guys. Really shitty for the band since he was such a staple of their music and where can they really go from here?

Today is probably the worst day ever. Its with our deepest regrets that we have to write this. Casey Calvert passed away in his sleep last night. We found out this afternoon before sound-check. We've spent the entire day trying to come to grips with this and figure out as much as possible. At this time we're not sure what exactly happened. Just last night he was joking around with everyone before he went to bed. We can say with absolute certainty that he was not doing anything illegal. Please, out of respect to Casey and his family, don't contribute or succumb to any gossip you may hear. We don't want his memory to be tainted in the least. Casey was our best friend. He was quirky and awesome and there will truly be no others like him! His loss is unexplainable. As soon as we know more we will let you know.

I was never really into HH, but I thought they had a few catchy tunes. I remember always saying "They wouldn't be so bad if they got rid of that guitarist that screams so much.".

This is really sad. The guy was only one year older than I am now, which is a kinda disturbing thing for me... As most people here, I am far from being a fan but:

I read a story about a French football player (who played in the Netherlands) dying at the age of 26 of a heart attack in his sleep as well.

Apparently he had some sort of hidden heart defect. It sounds similar to this death, perhaps they shared the same/ a similar condition?

His death, I'm guessing, was caused by his athesma. it was mentioned earlier. a friend and i keep checking on their site everyday for updates but so far there's nothing new. i've never cared for them either, but it was awful hearing about that and how the band reacted. what a shocker.
