^ Copping pleas for her husband. A lot of reports that Perry has been drunk at recent shows.
|
| |
Crazy how the band STILL haven't reconciled their differences after so many decades. It's honestly no wonder that they've only released 4 albums, seeing as conflicts and altercations always prevent them from making more music. It's a shame too, because I love those first two albums
|
| |
I love albums 1,2, and 4
Strays didn't do it for me
|
| |
What a cuppa jagoffs
|
| |
It ain't rock and roll, if the band members don't want each other dead.
|
| |
Perry was getting mocked the prior day over having a blown out voice aswell. never been a fan of Jane's addiction but def grew up with the singles on the radio: buut the last time I saw coverage like this was when Scott weiland got meme'd for a droning performance than died like 2 months later. hoping perry's healthy and if not hope he gets himself together.
|
| |
Probably, they are back on powder.
|
| |
They are washed-up and should retire
|
| |
Farrell hasn’t been good live post 1991 or the 21st century. Looks like he is a drunken and coked out mess. Dave Navarro isn’t sober from alcohol? What a shock. Eric Avery only agreed to this tour for money. This also happened on Stephen Perkins birthday. Farrell has always had major ego issues. I also didn’t realize these overrated has-beens got back together?
|
| |
^ I definitely agree regarding Perry's ego. I love those early Jane's Addiction records, but he's always been a massive cunt from the very beginning. As soon as I read that he demanded 62.5% of the royalties for Nothing's Shocking (despite the fact that every member was involved in the songwriting), I knew he was a total asshole
|
| |
I have never been able to dig Jane’s Addiction because of his ego being that huge. I thought he demanded 62.5 for the first two albums that anyone cares for? His ego held the group back from being as huge as Nirvana, RHCP, or Pearl Jam in terms of sales and commercial success. Heroin also destroys bands.

"Farrell hasn’t been good live post 1991 or the 21st century."
The greatest concert I've ever seen was when they played Ritual de lo Habitual in its entirety for its 25th anniversary, so massive disagree.
Not surprised to hear about Perry being a piece of shit, though. Brawling onstage is sad to read about. I thought about going to this show and now I am VERY glad I didn't.
|
| |
i thought they had stopped touring 15 years ago
|
| |
"That thirteen-month tour behind Ritual was half the reason we wound up unable to stand one another. The other half is that I am an intolerable narcissist who can't get along with anyone."
~Farrell
|
| |
Oh right this band exists
|
| |
"i thought they had stopped touring 15 years ago"
p sure these were supposed to be reunion tours
|
| |
Out of all the reunions happening these past couple of weeks, I'm honestly amazed that the only one to not have any controversy relating to the band itself, has been Oasis (their controversy is thanks to Ticketmaster).
|
| |
Guy looks exactly like I'd expect the lead singer of "Jane's Addiction" to look
|
| |
Farrell looks like a confused, angry granpa. I hope they manage to stay together until one more album drops, probably will be their last anyway.
|
| |
"Guy looks exactly like I'd expect the lead singer of "Jane's Addiction" to look"
yeah Perry has always looked simultaneously 10 and 70 years old. has the build of a tween but is just withered away from all the shit he's put in his body over the decades
|
| |
Couple of absolute tarts
|
| |
A ‘brawl’ would be Farrell pushing and shoving which leads to Navarro taking his guitar off and wading in with a couple of haymakers which leads to the security coming in, Farrell getting to his feet and head butting Navarro.
Then chaos ensues, Navarro frees himself from security who are trying to desperately restrain him before knocking Farells teeth out putting him to the floor then kicking his head, one twice maybe even thrice while others are throwing punches.
What we have here is a couple of tarts involved in a ‘spat’
|
| |
That's... kind of a good point lol

more evidence people rarely change - someone rubs you up the wrong way in your twenties then likely the same energy in your sixties
|
| |
^ I think this probably applies more acutely when you’re rock musicians who made just enough money to exist in a state of perennially arrested development versus like…a regular working Joe ground down by forty years of life’s everyday tragedies. The amount some people I know have changed in ten years is wild for me to even contemplate.
|
| |
How do you get past soundcheck and not point out the loudness especially if this dude has complained show-to-show? Seems like an attempt to cover for her husband's bad attitude and drunken decision making.
|
| |
Happy I got to see them on the NINJA Tour with NIN when Eric first rejoined and before Perry completely lost it, they were easily one of the best bands I've ever seen live even then. Shitty situation but not at all surprising considering their history and anyone who knows how much of it general piece of shit Perry Farrell is. Granted the guy is certainly deep within the throes of psychotic drug abuse and alcohol abuse and has been since the mid-80s, and his wife is enabling him, probably for his money. I feel the worst for the rest of the band who from all reports have been killing it on the tour and hugely covering for Perry's inability to sing or function, and according to Navarro's IG he's probably going to quit over this, which means no more JA.
Unfortunately Farrell is so rich he's completely insulated from any and all real criticism from anyone who still gives a shit at this point, so he's probably going to be dead in a couple of months. BAT called it, the parallels to Scott Weiland are pretty thick and obvious - I myself saw STP with Scott a few months before he died and it was just as bad as he said it was. A pretty sad but unsurprising end to a super important, wildly influential band that never got as big as they deserved mainly because of Perry's bullshit.

They're done
|
| |
pretty much a carbon copy of what happened to the Jonestown Massacre a few months back, except that incident was way rougher lol
|
| |
Bands are allowed to die, people need to sometimes pass on that massive payday.
Farrell was about to reboot Porno for Pyros and that seemed to make a lot more sense, he should resurrect that project.
|
| |
at this point nothing's shocking
|
| |
Dave Navarro needs to go back to being the host of Ink Master please
|
| |
lol fox news
|
| |
He needs to reboot his brain and life priorities before any of his bands IMO
|
| |
Tour cancelled.
|
| |
Band got canceled and I didn’t. Thank god for sput
And apologies for being a dick yall. Y’all know
|
| |
Did this band matter?
|
| |
Yeah their first 2 albums are great
|
| |
(2)
|
| |
lol I know someone who was at this show nice
|
| |
Say what you will about the band's personalities and their silly onstage shenanigans, but Ritual and Nothing's Shocking are godlike records that didn't sound like anything else at the time and largely kicked the door down first for alternative music to become a radio staple, not to mention creating Lollapalooza. That's way more important than 95% of bands ever get to be
