awful song
|
| |
worst rapper of all time
|
| |
Pretty good song, one of the better ones from him in recent years
|
| |
gonna take a wild guess and say this is not as good as dua lipa's houdini
|
| |
Upset I listened to this
|
| |
Man what a sad but extremely elongated fall from whatever grace there once was
I at least appreciated more when he would dive into being a radio hit manufacturer because it somehow held more personality than become a cheap ripoff of your younger self
|
| |
Edit-double post
|
| |
i mean, it's bad, but it's still some of the strongest stuff he's done in god knows how long
though, the reach at nostalgia is extremely pathetic
|
| |
this sucks but tbh i far prefer this to the spiritual miracle mumble rap murderer schtick he'd been running with the past couple albums
|
| |
Grown ass adults listen to this on purpose lmao
|
| |
Basically just a blend of two covers and it's way worse than either song it borrows from
His last good album was Mathers 2
|
| |
congrats to Eminem on releasing his first ever single. Watch out world this guy is the next big thing in rap
|
| |
it's definitely better than anything he's done in the last 10 years or so, but that's all
|
| |
The goat is back in town, baby
|
| |
i cannot imagine listening to this fuckin clown in 2024
|
| |
Pretty much the God of hip-hop, but he should stop fooling around because it's clear he's only giving about 5% of his effort.
|
| |
Probably the greatest song of 2024.
|
| |
r kellys favorite band the black guy pees was a bar tho right guys
|
| |
Greatest song of the 2020's so far tbh
|
| |
Bro is so gonna trigger the snowflakes with this one!!
|
| |
Pretty much the God of hip-hop
[2]
|
| |
Em has been awful for years and that beard... Gotta go. Still, this isn't as bad as his anti Trump temper tantrum from a few years ago. That shit was ultra cringy.
|
| |
TO HELL WITH TRUMP HE'S LITERALLY HITLER
|
| |
Abra abra cadabra, I'm about to reach in my bag bruh
|
| |
The libs took Eminem from us but we got him back.
|
| |
Idk, I fuck with fun Eminem so this is pretty enjoyable but the chorus is actually LOL bad.
|
| |
Wtf you guys are boring, the reception has been universally amazing generally, and here everyone is shitting on it? yall fuckers aint got no sense of humor. song is bad-ass
|
| |
impossible to make music worse than this.
|
| |
Machine gun kelly bro
|
| |
m&m is responsible for that which makes him worse
|
| |
Eminem having more fun and being less serious is a positive thing. The song itself is alright, definitely more tolerable than some of the other recent stuff he's done
|
| |
Should have dropped MM LP2 in 2013 as a throwback to his original style and then called it quits. Would have went down on top that way.
|
| |
Wtf is this
|
| |
It's a fun little song with a fun little concept
It's a far cry from his classic material but idk what people were expecting here
|
| |
I don't really feel anything for this tbh.
I do support the move to try integrating new and old, but the nostalgia-baiting makes the experience a little bit thin.
I think the key difference between Em and his critics is that we actually like him being offensive, but it just comes up thin when he thinks making people complain is the same as being problematically offensive. It's just an issue of being way too attached to the internet. Like nah, dude, we want that. I want Em to shit on critics and actually get it right, y'know?
|
| |
Yeah it ain’t anything mind blowing and not something I’ll go out of my way to listen to but it got a couple of chuckles out of me ngl. The r kelly line was very funny
|
| |
I make elevator music!
You make elevator music!
|
| |
I just think it's funny that Em turned into everything he railed against. And yeah Trump is literally Hitler.
|
| |
I can't say it's bad, this is the best he's sounded on a beat in a while but I can't help but cringe any time someone tries so desperately to be offensive while constantly reminding you of how offensive they think they are
"Oops, can't say that anymore, people are gonna be sooo pissed but heh, guess what, IDGAF, I'm just that fuckin crazy man 😎"
|
| |
I like it
|
| |
I think Eminem should stop trying to invoke his old work in this new stuff. I immediately bumped Without Me afterwards and man even if you like this it absolutely pales in comparison. He also needs a dedicated beat-picker
|
| |
'Idk, I fuck with fun Eminem so this is pretty enjoyable but the chorus is actually LOL bad.'
yeah the chorus on this almost like an anti-hook, its so bad
|
| |
Jesus this was dogshit
|
| |
Kendrick lighting Drake's career on fire in 2024 >>>>>> anything from Eminem post-2002
|
| |
id rather listen to lil xan than any eminem song
|
| |
It's a 3/10 for me
|
| |
Trump is innocent
|
| |
enjoyed this for the spectacle
|
| |
Idk how people can watch this and act like the notion of him being replaced with a clone is so schizo.
|
| |
If he hard leaned into making dumb jokes instead of constantly trying to convince everyone he was a genius I might actually get some enjoyment out of his songs but 50+ year old edgelord shit is still eyeroll inducing
|
| |
Honestly has he REALLY been relevant since 02? Name the last complete album he's released? The closest thing to great he did was MM2 and even that was a bit bloated.
|
| |
love it when an upstart releases his first single. Eminem is next up
|
| |
Please stop making music, you've had your good two albums over twenty years ago. It's time to stop.
|
| |
This is a fun callback to his goofier side. It definitely bumps.
The unwarranted hate for Em makes absolutely no sense. There is a reason no one wants to battle him, and still gets the respect he deserves from high end hip hop artists. Nobody gives a shit that people on this dumb website gives every album a 2.5 rating that is most likely from 12 year olds that worship Drake. He will always be relevant, whether you like it or not.
60M followers, and almost 1M likes in under 15 hours... Yea, not relevant at all...
|
| |
Em might not be as good as he was, but to say he's irrelevant is PREPOSTEROUS.
"Relapse" and "Recovery" were huge for him. They were both massive albums when I was in high school. "MMLP2" was also popular, with Rihanna and Kendrick features.
Even after that, "MTBMB" was a decent album with a couple of hot tracks. I'm not sure how popular he is with the "kids these days," but he is still extremely relevant in the world of music.
|
| |
Relapse + Recovery are pretty mid
|
| |
His worthwhile albums are the Slim Shady LP and the MM LP imho
|
| |
I enjoyed it, it's harmless fun.
|
| |
Relapse is his best post-2003 album and in his top 3 for me
|
| |
Followers mean nothing. Who's following? Imagine Dragons probably have millions of followers, it doesn't mean shit. Followers doesn't automatically equal quality.
|
| |
Y'all are crazy The Eminem Show and Recovery are both great too.
|
| |
The only thing I found wrong with it, was him just blatantly ripping off Without Me. I can forgive the cheesy 2000s beats, because if you want Slim Shady, you're gonna get the cheesy Shady production as well.
|
| |
It’s fine. Has an old Em feel. 9 million views in half a day. Lol
|
| |
Yeah, the kids still like em and this song obviously caters to old fans. He's the only 2000s mainstream rapper that still pulls a following. Maybe Wayne too
|
| |
I enjoyed it, it's harmless fun. [2]
|
| |
dude hasn't written a decent hook in such a long time lol
|
| |
He's a rap god not hook god.
|
| |
it's growing on me tbh, admittedly it doesn't seem as tryhard as it did on my first few listens, starting to think he's just having fun
|
| |
Bad. Just... no.
|
| |
if the whole thing is self referential ill give it marks but right now im stuck on 'im bout to reach in my bag bruh'
|
| |
Some of you people don't want Slim to enjoy himself tbh
|
| |
thank fgully it is called "the death of slim shady" so it probably wil be
|
| |
Y'all are crazy The Eminem Show and Recovery are both great too. [2]
|
| |
Nerds here are just hating just to hate at this point. I hate the majority of ems newer music most of it is garbage but this is deff a step up just for the fact that it sounds like older em and it seems like he's finally getting away from the modern trap type beats that have plagued his albums for the past 8 or so years. He's just having fun over a Eminem show old school type beat. It's not bad
|
| |
^ shut up old man
|
| |
Love you to dweeb lol.
|
| |
Best song since Eminem Show
|
| |
Rap God was better than this, Berzerk was better than this, Killshot was better than this, hell I'm gonna be bold and say even Venom as better than this
|
| |
I like this one actually
|
| |
That's an awfully hot coffee pot
|
| |
This was supposed to be my first single,
but I just fucked that up, so..
|
| |
the black immortal technique
|
| |
Woah, my dig showed up
that feature hasn’t been working in like, forever
|
| |
And now it’s gone lol
|
| |
Oh God, why tf did this comment section have to remind me of his Trump diss lmfao
Ugh the cringe
And yeah this is better than some recent Em, but tbh he sprinkled some solid tracks randomly throughout his last couple of albums - theyve just been MOSTLY shit.
This is fun but Em hasnt been legendary since like 2002
|
| |
"Rap God was better than this" me when I lie
|
| |
Any argument of this guy being one of the greats should be null and void due to his awful output
|
| |
"Like a motherfuckin' hacky sack I treat/
The whole world 'cause I got it at my feet"
Man is just straight up writing 6th grade rap bars
|
| |
"How can I explain to you
That even myself, I'm a danger to
I hop on tracks like a kangaroo
And say a few things or two to anger you"
These would have been good bars if FU-Shnickens wrote them 32 years ago
|
| |
Song will get radio play because of the chorus sample
|
| |
Hungover just watching reaction channels jizz over this because of nostalgia is both cringe and ultra relatable cause I also miss the old days RIP
Not as fun as the Kendrick diss youtube reactions though, those were the most fun reacts in years
|
| |
10/10
|
| |
this is a whole new dimension of cringe for eminem, but it's nostalgic and funnier than anything he's released in ages. this song is gonna get ALOT of airplay too, cause the chorus is sampling an already very popular and catchy song, so, yeah idk it's kind of a win
it's basically eminem parodying himself, i can at least appreciate the self awareness here
also it grows on you after a few listens, he really did "bring back Slim Shady", so if that matters to you, enjoy, this is as close as it's gonna get to the Eminem Show era
|
| |
edit double post
|
| |
never has a man spoke so much while saying so little
|
| |
Proof money changes even God of Rap. In a bad way. I mean, he raps all right but the struggle is gone so why the fuck even relate?
|
| |
horrible stuff as per usual. what gets me the most is how bad his flow has become. why the fuck does he only go at one speed and just try to squeeze everything out as fast as possible
|
| |
its alright. dont get the steaming hate apart from its 'cool' to bash on em now. but whatevsssssssssssssssss
|
| |
slim shady of yore
back from the dead to save rap
needs to get a grip
|
| |
i'm still semi hyped for new eminem which is something i haven't felt in over a decade, buuut yeah this song just doesn't do much for me and the videos also just kinda whatever. it's funny seeing all the reaction channels born out of the ken/drake drama trying to pull content out of this relatively stale single
|
| |
Aside from the fact that this is a transparently desperate grasp at relevancy, I hate to admit that I audibly cackled at the “fuck my kids” line. Song probably would’ve been more effective with one or two minutes cut off it though.
|
| |
Anyway. It’s so crazy to me that in an age where we have such easy access to art and media, we’ve somehow ended up with a rarefied culture that values familiarity above all else. Even without the comic book references, this is the rap equivalent of an Avengers film.
|
| |
Is a catchy song
|
| |
I just wish if he was going to do the whole "I don't give a fuck" nostalgia trip, he'd ACTUALLY go hard.
Like, does anyone remember the crazy out there shit he would say about ICP? It wasn't just some vague allusions to shit like the foot shooting with Meg Thee Stallion that everyone is freaking out about, it was actually psychotic wild shit.
This is just him saying "yeah I don't give a fuck" but he's not actually saying anything about anyone that intense at all, it's just vague references.
|
| |
Not my favorite Em tune but at least its fun and corny in a good way.
|
| |
It would be best if this was what "The Real Slim Shady" was to "MMLP" but the likelihood to that is... not likely... fans wanting/expecting a SSLP2 but it's probably going to take the direction of The Eminem Show 2, except instead of the struggle with fame it's his struggle with 2020's meme culture.
|
| |
Slim Anus? You damn right Slim Anus!
|
| |
It's ok to like a line just to like a line though lol. Back in the day, Em had enough lines that almost everybody liked *at least one of them* in a song. That was the kitsch. As far as striking the familiarity vein, it's hardly that much of a death sentence, once in a while Em comes out with a song/music video that does it. Last one that leaned heavy into it was Rap God which was 11 years ago, all it is is a little bit of fan service for those who pine for an '02 Eminem since he was remarkably a different Em back then. The tongue-in-cheek self awareness of the fact is literally 50% of what Shady is right there. The song itself is tame as hell, but I have no qualms with the presentation.
|
| |
"it was Rap God which was 11 years ago,"
Shut up, that was like 2 years ago
And Rap God was cool because it was a different side of Em - sure it had some "thats so gay" stuff, but the main point of it was to show off his technical skill and the fact that his lungs are like a Greek God compared to mere mortals
This song feels like it's TRYING to be The Real Slim Shady but the callouts are very PG
|
| |
Agreed with the sentiments above^^
|
| |
honestly this is barely listenable, I feel like I'd like the vibe if I could actually understand the lyrics without needing a lyric sheet. why the hell does he have 1 speed and no nuance in his rapping for 10 years already. he used to have one of the sickest flows ever, now it's all a flat line, fuck.
|
| |
hilarious to me that people are like “why does the worst rapper of all time suck??”
|
| |
Yeah he used to actually sound genuinely angry, and also genuinely like a class clown with his emphasis on different voices like the whole Cartman thing
Ever since the mid-late 2000's he's just had the same tone, I don't know what happened
|
| |
dunno by which metric Em's the worst rapper of all time, but sure
|
| |
all of them.
|
| |
relapse was the last interesting eminem album than it got panned and he avoided developing his flow further. afaic everything he's put out since has just a repeat of 'recovery,' which was boring then and still kinda boring now. he does have song great songs sprinkled into the last decade of albums buuut when each albums like 17 tracks 75 minutes, takes some effort to find them or just blind fandom/not listening to any other rapper. in ems defense like every huge-name rapper came out peak than just churned out 'going through the motions' records: like i think lil wayne was one of the tops but i haven't even heard an album or mixtape by him in like 10 years and i know no one whose bumping modern wayne, they just go back to the 2000s stuff lol. hell id say even jay-zs batting average is low
|
| |
Relapse was only interesting in how dogshit it was
And you can't release Slim Shady LP, Marshall Mathers LP, Eminem Show and be such a good rap battler than you destroy several prominent figures entire careers and be considered "the worst of all time"
I know that's prob a troll statement, but damn consider me triggered lol
|
| |
im dead serious, he’s responsible for a good portion of the worst music ever released. honestly I can’t think of music I hate more than Eminem.
|
| |
for better or worse : i think relapse is his best album after em show lmfao
|
| |
and i will say eminems production is pretty meh and most hits he produced in the early 2000s for other artists do noooot hold up, but idk what the publics into.
also all em clones are worse than em lmfao, like try blasting hopsin at a red light
|
| |
Pretty much everything post Eminem Show has been different levels of bad, but he's just given up on Houdini; I have no doubt it will be extremely successful commercially, but artistically and creatively it is pure swill.
|
| |
"Not Like Me" is one of his best written songs, and is absolutely relentless. Kamikaze was pretty damn good, and of course gets bogged down by modern, half-assed criticism.
What is even more hilarious is the Gen-Z pitchforks coming for his head because he dropped a double entendre about Megan the Stallion. Generation is fucking lost, man.
|
| |
Wait what seriously?
My problem with that line is it was nothing but a reference, it wasn't even a diss.
He used to call people slurs and stabbing them to death and rap about murdering Kim lmfao
How was anyone even remotely offended by that?
|
| |
This is so bad.
|
| |
proud to say I have never deliberately listened to one of m&m’s songs in full
|
| |
eminem wishes he could release a song as good as voodoogang killa
|
| |
this shit sucks dick, fucking wack ass song. excited to see what kinda disaster his full album turns out to be.
|
| |
beards wierd...
this dude is truly what happens when u got nothing left to say, we need someone to talk shit bout his kids, that at least gives him some focus.
|
| |
Em is just straight up corporate pop rap these days. He stopped doing drugs, lost his balls and bent the knee to the suits. He's a fraud. Fuck him.
|
| |
Crazy how he hasn't been good in 22 years
|
| |
Tbh, this was quite fun. But the chorus is quite 'meh', though.
|
| |
Who is he?
|
| |
Yeah the verses actually grew on me a lot but agreed, chorus (as per usual now) is weak af and I always look forward for it to stop
And who’s em? I dunno, hope he makes it though he has some promise
|
| |
Jesus Christ.
Can the people of Detroit just do that thing they do and either smash a pistol over this berks head to knock some sense into him or just shoot him at least 17 times.
|
| |
Has he found his sense of humour again, last seen around 2001?
|
| |
Watching this....another person who made their name with genuinely funny jokes that would be cancelled now whose only option is to reference the fact they'd be cancelled if they were still doing that now
|
| |
this has somehow been his highest charting song in over a decade. i am floored, not only cause the song sucks but its just so far away from what i imagine a "billboard #2 eminem song in 2024" would sound like and it doesn't have a rihanna chorus
|
| |
