Slaps

| |
Lol this band
|
| |
It rules, but it didn't really blow my mind like Sun of Nihility did when that first dropped. Maybe this requires more listens.
Still, this, Dying Fetus, Cannibal Corpse and new Cryptopsy ohhhh boy
|
| |
Song rules, band rules, absolutely ecstatic they're back and better than ever. m/
|
| |
No brees or crees 0/10

|
| |
The bois are back, can't wait m/
|

Sun Eater was so far and above everything they'd made before that I was bummed when they went on hiatus right afterward. Stoked on this. Glad to see they're continuing with the highly audible bass and Revocation-ish guitar solos. Never a bad thing hearing more of Davy's vocals either
|
| |
Fuck me this rules, so glad they did not disappoint after all this time.
Bass going ahrd
|
| |
Ehhh it’s alright.
|
| |
Beautiful.
|

First minute underwhelmed me but the following three minutes absolutely slayed [2]

"band is on a crazy good trajectory these days between Sun Eater and possibly this new album"
Sun Eater is a decade old what year are you living in?
|
| |
Not impressed tbh
|
| |
"Sun Eater is a decade old what year are you living in?"
I'm just saying they're doing good overall and going to much better heights than in the past. I couldn't stand anything before Sun Eater
|
| |
I think that JFAC, if anything, has been a band that has strived to push themselves stylistically. It took them a while, but between helping define an entire genre in deathcore, to the famous pig squeels (for better or worse), they have had a knack for introducing interesting elements into the metal landscape.
For example, sun eater has been hailed for the unrivaled use of the bass in the mix, bringing it way up so that the entirety of the music can be heard. Johnny has always had some of the most unique and raw vocals in the business as well.

"The concept was inspired by a close friend who embarked on a relentless quest for profound enlightenment through the incessant abuse of hallucinogenic drugs"
lol I also have this friend. Oddly relatable.
|
| |
Not as impressed with this as everyone else seems to be, but it is decent. Doesn't stand out much from Sun Eater, imo, and isn't as good as the best songs there.

Entombment of a machine >

Doom slappps
|
| |
Hey this is a really good news article nicely done
|
| |
'Entombment of a machine >'
You might be memeing, but all these fools I see online talking about Sun Eater is their only good album is hilarious to me. These guys have always been good at what they do whether you like deathcore or not.
|
| |
tbh Deathcore -> Prog Death is the arc every single deathcore band should strive for.
it's 2023.
anyone trying to make deathcore as a grown adult makes me cringe
|
| |
Pretty good
|
| |
The concept is kinda lame
|
| |
yeah, solid
|
| |
Track rocks ass tbh. Some nice hooks
|
| |
Btw check out Nuclear Power Trio for more bass action
|
| |
Yawn.
|
| |
not yawn!
|
| |
Yawn [2] describes this band as a whole
|
| |
Good song!
|
| |
When are these bozos gonna figure out that cowboys are canceled
|
| |
Lol this band [2]
|
| |
Returning to reiterate that this slaps
|
| |
Yeah this kills, I love how the slap bass part about halfway in goes directly into what feels like it should be a breakdown, but it never comes. Doubt it's intentional, but stylistically it couldn't be a bigger fuck you to their deathcore stuff.
|
| |
slaps as expected
|
| |
"The concept was inspired by a close friend who embarked on a relentless quest for profound enlightenment through the incessant abuse of hallucinogenic drugs"
BoO absolutely malding right now
|
| |
Nick kills it on bass in this band. Honestly forgot he'd joined in with them. Gonna follow this up with some Xenosapien.
Track is a banger. Would like to catch them live to hear some of the more recent stuff. Got to see them early 2010 and they put on a good show back then too
|
| |

|
| |
Bass is sick
|
| |
Yessss, Sun Eater was so good
|
| |
holy shit this is good
also no pig squeals, which is awesome
|
| |
Really digging the new single
|
| |
Used to jam Demonocracy a lot!! This seems to be on par with my memories
|
| |
It’s not really fair to compare their early material with their later material seeing how the vocalist is the only original member.
|
| |
looks like an upgrade to me, at least the new guys aren't asking him to bree
|
| |
