Pierce The UnVeil new song

2022-09-02 by hobblepot | 52 Comments
Pierce the Veil have dropped a new song, “Pass the Nirvana”. The song features a new sound for the band, opting for more of a straight rock approach rather than the post-hardcore sound they are known for. You can hear the song below.

Don't you know that if a band/artist is popular they are automatically trash according to rando's on sputnikmusic.com?

Honestly think they have put out some interesting and unique work in their career, but this is painfully boring and the lyrics are laughable.

Purely posted this news to see what others think, because I really think this band don't deserve any of the love they get especially when they let their nonce drummer back in the band briefly and only kicked him out again because people found out

Song is bad, really bad. I sort of liked Misadventures when it came out, and Collide was okay at the time but this is a scenecore band I have no nostalgia for at all

Having Mike there for the Livestream was so weird and bad, I imagine the mental gymnastics suggested that it was the right move because he's not interacting with fans by doing that, but I wish they hadn't done that

This is so overpolished, there's no spice left. Especially the drums and acoustic guitar sound like borderline pop-rock Avril Lavigne kawaii bullshit.

Yeah, this is not them playing to their strengths. The bridge isn't bad but I'll be surprised if this lasts as a big hit for them. It just feels too meandering and pointless.

Misadventures was fun but their songwriting was getting a little stale. This is a completely different change of pace and tone, which I respect a lot. It's not a bad song, I just hope this indicates they're taking a new direction in their next release. Something fresh and surprising!

"this band has not been remotely popular in years"

King For a Day was #1 on the Hard Rock Billboard charts last week. Still #5 this week and has been top 5 for awhile. Their popularity really hasn't been higher.

Seconding that it felt really bland. Lyrics felt really off for me too. Don't hate it, but definitely don't like it either. Hopefully whatever comes next is more like them.
