Tbh I think there is a string of hope. That string is short and frayed and trampled, but it is there.
If they even go back to like, Bloodstones and Diamonds-lite quality that'll be a massive step up

Debut isn't really hated on all that much. It's mainly the stuff released after it + Flynn's silly shenanigans

Flynn can be a pretty over-the-top dramatic. I think they've got a few good tracks in their catalogue, but they're very hit or miss. They had some steam in the latter half of their career, but it's gonna take something significant, considering Flynn totally wore out writing about his divorce and key members who were pivotal to the thrashier aspects left.

Also, why release a teaser with no music? I'm not exactly anticipating anything here.

There's some musical talent in this band all they need to do is tone down their cringe energy. Not the most encouraging teaser in this regard (no music? I'm supposed to be hyped for the generic music video atmospheric visuals?)

I've been soul searching why I love Catharsis so much. And just worked it out. It's dad metal. I'm not big into dad metal but Catharsis is one I really dig

They have more highs (BME, TMTC, Blackening, B&D) than lows (Supercharger, Catharsis) and Supercharger aside, their highs are just more intense than their lows.
They're a classic 90s band with a partially successful reconversion and a great live show.

It's not like we're talking about Disturbed or DevilDriver here
