Coldplay discuss new album

2007-09-11 by Iai EMERITUS | 12 Comments
Coldplay have taken time out of their busy recording schedules to get on the internet and tell the world what they've been up to.

Coldplay's blog, on their official website, has been updated to state that their upcoming fourth album, produced by Brian Eno, will include just 9 tracks and be just 42 minutes long. Is it too much to hope that rather than The Joshua Tree, they've been using Remain in Light as their blueprint? Probably. Although, surprises may yet be on the cards - there is a very clear reference to 'thrash metal'....

Songs being considered for inclusion include "Lost!," "Cemeteries Of London," "Violet Hill," "Poppy Fields," "42," "Yes!," "Leftrightleftrightleft," and "Rainy Day." The arduous task of narrowing it down to just 9 tracks is described as 'like picking a football team'. The blog also hints that two songs dropped from the album proper will be released as stand-alone singles.

As much as it might be a bad idea, I'm really looking forward to this.

well, if my dad gets this (and he will), I'll be happy enough to only to have to sit through forty-two minutes of it.

Looking forward to it. Say what you want about them copying off other artist (which every one does) they make enjoyable music. I'm hoping for a more spacey sound.
