This song didn’t really grab me, but I do like the band. One of the few “newer” bands in the heavy genre that truly have a unique sound. Their unpredictable, out of nowhere, heavy as balls breakdowns are still the highlight for me. Hopefully we still get some of those on this record.

They have some good songs, I don't like how cringey pretentious they are though. They try to pretend they are a religion or some shit and listening is "worshiping" them? fucking cringe. Their breakdowns are so predictable lol, wait for the drop! Spiritbox is exactly the same.

How to be Sleep Token :

1. Buy a synth
2. Learn 3 chords
3. Done

The drums are really tight though. I like this stuff, it's an interesting blend of Bon Iver and heavy moments at the end hahah!

The more consistently soft stuff they make the less unique and more
Boring they are. I like when they combine both

Love the song. Definitely a very niche band for how ironically mainstream their vox and 'djent' stuff is. Dunno what it is, but they have a really cool vibe. I'm hoping we get more songs that sound like "Calcutta" on this record.

Quite enjoyed this. Could never get really into the djent/breakdown sound, but these guys seem to keep it interesting in between.

Sleep Token are flirting hard with the "once you've heard one (artist) song, you've heard them all" branding. They follow the same song structure nearly every time.

"I don't like how cringey pretentious they are though. They try to pretend they are a religion or some shit and listening is "worshiping" them? fucking cringe." [2]

But I think that's mostly coming from the fans, no?? Yeah, I don't recommend reading through their youtube videos' comments unless you want to drown in said cringe.

Nope, 100% from them. This is in the description of their own video:

Here's their fan email lmfao: TheServants@sleep-token.com

They also do that stupid "anonymous" gimmick. Pretty sure the singer is only referred to as "vessel" . It's so lame.

man i wish they didn't do the anonymous thing so i could know what else this drummer has done, the best part of all of their songs is when his grooves come in

@Circle
His name is Adam Pedder and he is no doubt the best part of the band. I’m really a big fan of these guys specifically for the guitar and drums. The vocals don’t bother me in the total package, but they do a lot of the same song structure over and over.

They basically start with the singer over a synth background -> bring in drums and guitar -> end the song on a heavy note.

I keep thinking this is Hozier and someone's gonna say take me to church. Definitely a poppy song but not bad for what it is
