The offer called for Morrissey to do a minimum of 50 shows all over the world under the Smiths' name, with the only proviso being that Johnny Marr was also in the band. The offer has been refused.

He still plays The Smiths songs live anyway, the logistics of playing under the Smiths name would be silly, he'd have to ditch a lot of his solo material to play old songs presumably. I'm not really sure how happy fans would be either way.

Its probably better for them not to reform. It would just ruin the greatness of what the band was. Besides, Morrissey still performs some Smiths songs live anyway, and his solo stuff is still nearly as good. This Message Edited On 08.26.07

I can't think of Morrissey without thinking of Mike Nelson's parody of him. It's funny because it's true.
