It’s not that good but it’s decent.

Definitely safer and more stripped down than I was expecting. Kind of refreshing to hear them do something a little more basic but I'm hoping that the rest of the album has some of the technicality and dark atmosphere of Absent Light.
Melodies in this song are more reminiscent of Controller and I was confused because I thought Jesse was back but he sounds a lot like Karl here.

As a huge Karl guy I was so afraid I was gonna hate this. I'm pumped that this absolutely slams. Definitely hope the rest of the album is a little more technical, but this is a great start. Jesse sounds pretty Karl-esque

the last album with jesse on vocals as nearly 15 years ago. he's certainly going to sound a little different now. his vocals were pretty heavily layered then and they're still now. definitely still sounds like him though. no one can match karl's roars.

also, it's the first song of the album, so i'd hold the whole "song sounds like they're playing it safe" take.
