This grew on me after a while... That being said, not the musical direction I was hoping for. Dallas sounds phenomenal
| |
They went stoner rock with the riffs and I’m fucking here for it
| |
This slaps
| |
The new shit makes me wanna listen to the old shit brb
| |
wasn’t sure about this at first but now i’m into it
| |
glad they're still doing what they want to do, i'm sure i'll grow into it eventually
| |
sucks
| |
I’m down for more of this direction. Actually I’m down for anything from these guys. I’m just glad they’re making new music. Bonus that it’s actually really good.
| |
What a comeback
| |
sounds like they're picking up from Dog's Blood with that riff which is hella cool, but that EP has such unpredictable and wild songwriting where this is like 85% a few lines repeating. like it but hope the rest is crazier tbh

High Alexis on Fire
| |
It's cool that they're releasing new stuff but I'm not into this at all.
| |
This was okay
| |
Kinda lame honestly. Might need to give t more time but yeah really not feeling this
| |
big ol' meh but cool that they're making new tunes. Saw them live at Stampede last year and they were incredible
| |
Not too interesting, but them being together and writing again is a good sign
| |
looks like this is gonna be just a standalone single, with a couple of tour dates coming along with it
| |
This rules man, it seems like such a different direction for them, but fuck I love it.
| |
One song is not enough to speak of a direction my bois.
Here's to hoping a new album will come fast.
| |
They said in an interview yesterday that this is indeed just a standalone single (for now). They have no immediate plans for a new LP, but there could easily be a new EP or LP in the next while if they find themselves in the right environment to make it. Said that they wouldn't make a new AOF record if they didn't have the time or ability to dedicated themselves 100% to the project.
Kind of a bummer but personally I'm just glad they're not forcing out a new record. I'd rather wait forever to get actual inspired material than a tepid comeback record.

I am so ready for whatever this is going to sound like.
| |
Totally diggin' this.
Didn't realize how much I missed that vocal interplay between George, Dallas and Wade (despite Wade having a very small amount of vocals).

Rules
| |
band is so sick
| |
Couple more listens and I’m liking it better now. Reminds me of Maylene & the Sons of Disaster
| |
Queen Alexis of the Stone Age on Fire
| |
This might be what finally converts me to a hardcore AOF fan, just like Underoath's Erase Me did for them.
| |
it's pretty good, but not what I was hoping for at all, where the F U C K is my Crisis 2.0?
| |
Dallas sounds as great as ever. What a voice
| |
OH ITS FUCKING
| |
High Alexis on Fire
[2]
| |
Ohh fuck I would be so disappointed if Alexis EVER came back with Crisis 2.0 lol. They did that sound and did it well, that's enough. I hope they continue with this tone.
| |
aight yea the more i spin this the more im into it definitely copping tickets to the new york show now
| |
Decent.
| |
Not what I expected at all, but I’m not complaining
| |
Might take a few listens to settle.
| |

Took me a few listens to get into, the new direction took me for a loop, but now I'm loving it!
| |
yeah i was iffy at first but now i cant get it out of my head. hope we do end up getting a full length
| |
Digging it.
| |
Woow this is bad
| |
Is it hard being a contrarian all the time, or do you get off on it?
| |
I was worried after seeing how underoath and thrice came back but this is great
| |
@crematorium i actually exclusively get off on pissing off users that I've never heard of before
| |
So in answer to your question, yes, its rock hard
