Why does the band name sound like another one of Snide's music projects?

@JAV I think it's a sputnik bug, there are lots of those - it doesn't seem like the owner maintains the site anymore.

I have to say I'm positively surprised. I don't think Goodbye Old Friend was a good choice as a single to give an overall impression of the album.

I'm not sure if it's the article formatting or what, but whenever I click on links from news articles here, my browser automatically formats the URL with http:// to start the address which results in http://https//.

When you click the link and it opens, just delete the https// in the URL and you'll get there.

@dbizzles Well, I've only heard their first album and a few tracks here or there, so I really do need to listen to more.

Shit, man, there's always time, but you gotta get on it. You Fail Me is my personal favorite, but you can't go wrong with Jane Doe either.

Pretty much every Converge album is great.

this sounds like a really mediocre lo-fi post-rock project you'd find on bandcamp

@Danred97 the easiest starting point for Converge is probably All We Love We Leave Behind or You Fail Me. If Jane Doe is too much to handle on the first try (it sure was for me but now I have it at a 5) you might wanna go with those

@Lelle I've like all that I've heard so far. On first listen, Jane Doe is a 4, it's just a little too chaotic for me to put it any higher. My main gripe is that the vocals, while great, make it impossible to understand the lyrics. The instrumentation is phenomenal though.

If you wanna listen to more converge, you're gonna have to get used to indecipherable lyrics...

Some of the instrumental sections on this are great, but the album has a mixed bags of tracks ranging from good to mediocre. And for a solo project, Bannon doesn't really carry his own weight as he isn't a very good singer.

Yeah, he's a great lyricist and harsh vocalist but he really needs the energy and creativity of the rest of the band behind him.

I'm about halfway through this, and this is really uninteresting. He's an awesome screamer, but his cleans are a little flat, and the minimalistic musical accompaniment does this no favors.
