Vicarious

Tool's soon-to-be released new single "Vicarious" has been leaked.
Many Tool fans(including myself) jumped on it the second they saw it. That's what 5 years of waiting does to you!
It has been said that it was leaked by Tool people that sent it to Radio stations, but they forgot to make it secure, so it leaked. So does that make it illegal? So they basically posted the song online...
Vicarious is set to be aired on American radio stations on Monday, 17 April. Be sure to tune in. The album is still set for a May 1st/2nd release.

I like the song, very Tool-like but slightly heavier.

Never heard it yet, but if it does sound like the same ol' tool but heavier then im all for it.

Heard it, it's really good, IMO. You can't really hear Maynard too well, kinda like in Undertow.

After hearing some fake yet very TooL-like song by the same name I have finally heard the proper one - and it is very impressive. Hope the album continues in the same vein.

I can hear a bit of an A Perfect Cirlce influence, the music is more melodic than usual, but still heavy and still Tool. I like it a lot! This Message Edited On 04.15.06

Any p2p software, more than likely. And there are several links around the net from sites that've uploaded it.

This has so been worth the wait.
I honestly got chills when Maynard says 'I need to watch things die...from a distance...vicariously...while the whole world dies!'
Seriously. Hands down the best song I've heard yet this year.

Damn good song. Bloody fine effort. Vocals a touch soft though.

"Vocals a touch soft though"
I kinda agree and disagree, cause you cant hear all of Maynard's amazing lyrics (the ones on this song are pretty damn decent), but I find it annoying sometimes that too many bands put vocals too high in the mix so you cant hear the music.

Definitely looking forward to this!

Don't you love it when one of your favourite bands comes out with some new material, and it doesn't suck? Indeed, it sounds absolutely fucking great?
What a time to be alive.

I think Rossetta Stoned will rule even harder my friend.

Yeah, they decided to stick to a time signature for this song, which takes all the fun of figuring their songs out.

no no not a mixture of tool and apc.. apc is an entirely different band. You cannot say that. Adam Jones made TOOL, his guitar style is not at all like APC's
10000 days i think is the best song. and Maynard sounds like he did in reflection not like he did in apc songs..
i love maynard and apc but TOOL is my first love.

The intro to this song sounds nearly identical to The Patient, and the main part sounds almost exactly like Schism. Still, a pretty good song.
