SONG IS FIRE
| |
this song is LIT
| |
Mothership will be the best album this band has ever put out. Every single from this record has been fucking great.
| |
I'm getting Happiness vibes which was my favorite album of theirs
| |
I think Tilian is the best thing to ever happen to this band. He's easily my favorite of the three.
| |
I used to not fuck with Tilian's vocals when Acceptance Speech first came out but I think it was just that albums production. He is really stepping it up on these new tracks. Mothership could be the best of the Tillian-era DGD
| |

| |
I'll never forget the 4chan screenshot of the guy saying his buddy told him to listen to Happiness because it was "metal for people who don't like metal" and OP compared it to Scooby Doo chase music.
| |
song is a jam, really stoked for the album
| |
This was like some five nights at freddie's level cringe
| |
"OP compared it to Scooby Doo chase music"
You know what, it kinda fits as that tbh
| |
treb you stay breaking my heart
| |
How can you look at that screenshot and not throw up
| |
with my eyes and iron-clad stomach
| |
this is so fun, I really am getting Happiness vibes. I hope this ends up being their best of the Tilian era because it's shaping up quite nicely.
| |
And truth be told I don't keep up with the stories of their songs much, so correct me if I'm wrong, but the news title is inaccurate because I think this is a prequel
| |
this is dope
| |
They probably meant revive the fact they are bringing him as song content, not his character
| |
This song didn't grab me but at least the actual video was entertaining. It feels like they've become a parody of the type o fb music they pioneered.
| |
Great track although I don't like it as much as Betrayed by the Game.
And this song is like full funk, which is different for them. Usually they just sprinkle some funk here and there.
| |
track is so lit
| |
hate their videos, just give me the fuckin audio. i like the intro on this one
| |
wheres chuckytruant
| |
can lit be banned as a word from now on
| |
That idea ain't so lit fam
| |
Not as lit fam as Betrayed, but damn, this album should be fire af.
| |
I'm so pumped for this record. I pre orded this thing as soon as they went up for sale. Every song has been amazing.
| |
glad to see i fired up the plebs
| |
3/3 on all singles, bravo.
| |
"3/3 on all singles, bravo. "
Agreed.
"glad to see i fired up the plebs"
Not worried about it.
| |
From the previews this album sounds like a mix of happiness and something Dream Theater would put out--at least instrumentally. There's a lot of prog metal influence.
I still think this is gonna be their best album.
| |
These singles just keep getting better, this album is gonna be awesome. Tilian sounds so much better, he sounds more like he does on Tree City Sessions, wouldn't be surprised if they said his vocal work here hadn't been polished at all in the studio
| |
tillian stepping his game up and being an actual vocalist instead of background whines
| |
I liked it, all of the singles have been pretty varied in sound
| |
I'm obsessed. Seeing them on Oct 19th again. Will probably weep tears of blood.
| |
@Comeback I'm seeing them on the 19th too!
| |
''There's a lot of prog metal influence.''
What. I didn't get anything like that from the preview. Maybe I don't listen to enough prog metal.
Video for this is great, song is ehhh.. It's okay.
| |
YES TO SONG
YES TO THRED
| |
The really interesting watch is the timelapse video of the creation of this video.
| |
SONG IS FIRE [2]
| |
Getting a Justin Timberlake vibe from the vocals....good shit
| |
tilian has been sounding so much better on these singles
| |
wow this song is horrible
| |
Little disappointed in this one, but the first two singles blew my tits off so I guess they were due. Other than that general funky feeling, the entire song feels a little held back. The band is at their best when the energy level is high.
| |
If anyone's interested, there are some real high quality live videos on Youtube of the song Flossie Dickey Bounce, which might be even funkier than this song
| |
and to whoever said the title is inaccurate, yeah i was referring to the fact that the last song to mention the robot was called "Death of the Robot with Human Hair"
| |
So weird. On my Apple Music this track isn't listed anywhere on the cd.
| |
so what's track two?
| |
never thought this group would bounce back after instant gratification, but all the songs off this record have been hitting it pretty hard.
| |
definitely the best single they've released so far, probably their best song in a while tbh
I actually kinda enjoyed this
| |
Oh I'm dumb. I thought the track was titled revive the robot lol
| |
Fuckkk if the rest of the album sounds like the three singles it'll be my aoty. This song is the shit
| |
How the Robot with Human Hair Got his Groove Back
| |
Huh, this is alright. I liked Chunky v the Giant Tortoise better
Also who's trash talking Instant Gratification, that album was dope
| |
They posted a preview for a song called "Chocolate Jackalope" yesterday and it sounds really good too.
| |
Chocolate Jackalope sounds like Eagle vs. Crows pt 2.
| |
oh dear god please no
| |
Guys, it ...became available.
AND FOR ME IT'S THEIR BEST HOLY GOD
So groovy. So heavy and still catchy. Amazing show-stealing instrumentation too.
| |
this song has grown on me
| |
Currently listening to the whole thing. Tillian sounds absolutely incredible, album might just be their best yet.
| |
where can i hear the whole thing?
| |
google. it's relatively easy to find
unlike perfect melodies ;]
| |
this album is one of the easiest 5's i've ever 5'd in my life
| |
Omg you guys are getting me a bit too excited lol
| |
I think it might be their most mature & consistent. Constant stream of great tracks. "Frozen One" might be my favorite song they've ever done, beating out Variation/Lost. Big Tillian fan, but he's topped himself here too. Tillian actually has a couple songs with some impressive screams.
| |
Dude, you're totally right about "Frozen One", easily one of the best choruses this band has ever penned.
| |
Omg you guys are getting me a bit too excited lol [2]
My expectations are like too high now
| |
Frozen One @1:25-1:55! Man the double bass and melodies are neat here.
Perfect DGD song.
"Deception" has such driving, powerful drums and riffs, I love it.
Liking this album WAY more than I was expecting.
| |
in a sudden change of events Young Robot becomes my favorite of the three singles
wow what a fucking track
| |
My god, this is really their best album. They just do so much and it mostly all works. Totally Tilian's best performance with this band and some of these definitely have some of my favorite moments of him overall. Man of the Year, Frozen One, Inspire the Liar, and Here Comes the Winter are early favorites but all of these stand out. Hello AOTY
| |
Yup. So much better than I expected. It feels so much more...cohesive? to me than their previous albums. And very catchy, even instrumentally sometimes! In love with this. Most likely 5'ing.
| |
I 4.5'd it without hesitation. And Frozen One is definitely one of their best overall
| |
Definitely -- first non-single I heard, and that's when I immediately knew this was a huge improvement. The "chorus" is so great. Inspire the Liar is wonderful. Philosopher King's instrumentals are brutal. Same with Petting Zoo Justice.
The whole thing is heavy, epic, emotional....while still being fundamentally silly and fun and very DGD. Just more mature somehow. Love the unpredictable song structures as per usual.
| |
the mixing on this is atrocious.
| |
I love how Petting Zoo Justice kicks in right after Exposed and Betrayed by the Game.
My initial favorites are Man of the Year, Frozen One, Here Comes the Winter and Inspire the Liar. These tracks are all so full and nothing seems to outstay its welcome or conversely die too early.
I think my only minor complaint is Tilian's entrance on Chocolate Jackalope is such a weak melody compared to everything else. Hoping it grows, but other than that I really see nothing wrong with this
| |
Aw man I love that intro
| |
''the mixing on this is atrocious.''
That's probably the 128kbps, not the mix.
| |
It's definitely not the mix, the leak quality is just horrible
| |
^^^^^^^
listen to released tracks on spotify the mix is fine
| |
Yeah the production is actually fuckin gorgeous, everyone plays a clear, discernible, and complementary role in the mix. I'm quite impressed by it. Got some definite clipping in this shite 128kbs leak though. But I'm enjoying it more than most low quality leaks.
And aww....I actually really like Tillians intro to Chocolate Jackalope. If I can say anything about that song, it's that Will once again turns a perfectly fine song into a joke with an interlude. Oh well. They shed most of that cringy stuff, so once in the whole album is a huge improvement.
| |
I'm perfectly fine with the rest of it. Will's part has a nice little groove. I seem to always give this band a pass for cringy shit. Probably because of how intentional it is and they've definitely got the music to back it up.
But like seriously, why are all of these songs so good?
| |
This is great. It manages to give me a sad, cool, and happy feeling all in one song. Haha.
| |
This shit needs to stream fuck man
| |
I feel like there are a lot of intro gimmicks
| |
yeah swan fucks up chocolate jackalope, worst part on whole album. really like the outro vocal melodies on it tho
| |
Am I the only one who kinda digs Swan's part on Chocolate Jackalope, though? I always thought his rapping sections were incredibly obnoxious in the past ("Spooks" being somewhat of an exception) but here it's kind of stupid in an enjoyable way without being annoying.
All told this record completely annihilates AS and IG, both of which I enjoyed, but this feels so much more bombastic and complete.
| |
tbh I usually enjoy will's rapping parts except for acceptance speech. eagle vs crows hit the right note for me, though I'm biased since I think that's one of the best tilian era songs
| |
Clip, clop, clip clip clop, horse comes out and beats your parents up.
| |
He did kill it on Eagle vs Crows. That was bars. Haha.
| |
"This shit needs to stream fuck man"
Yes. I've been checking everyday. I need it for my playlist.
| |
2 days yo
| |
album is really good
| |
Can't wait to hear it in good quality. I'd say it's easily their most aggressive, technical, and chaotic, so I'm excited to listen to it like it was meant to sound.
| |
Bitch you need to stop talking!!!!
| |
their new one is really great tho better than the last two and catchiest album since Happiness
| |
> easily their most aggressive, technical, and chaotic
True, and while somehow being their most cohesive and complete. Tillian sounds less like a pop singer mashed into the band and more like...I don't know....an alternate universe Stephen Christian? It's nice. Really love how he sounds here.
| |
I grabbed the album at the show last night, it's fire
| |
Oh hell yes 320 rip is out
| |
yup, just snagged last night, makes a nice difference. Very cool.
| |
It's so damn good
| |
