Oasis reissue Be Here Now

2016-07-22 by judasgoat | 31 Comments
Oasis will be reissuing Be Here Now, the album hailed by its creator as "the sound of ... a bunch of guys, on coke, in the studio, not giving a fuck", on October 7th.

Oasis's third album will be reissued on vinyl and as a 3CD deluxe edition, similar to the reissues of the last two records. The first disc will be the main album, the second disc will consist of B-sides and rarities, and the third disc will feature the Mustique demos, long sought-after by fans.

A track from the second disc, a "rethink" of opening track "D'You Know What I Mean?" by Noel Gallagher, can be streamed below. Gallagher had this to say on the rethink:

“As the years went by I'd started to accept that the songs on 'Be Here Now' were in fact insanely long... too long! Someone (I can't remember who) had the idea that we re-visit, re-edit the entire album for posterity's sake,” says Noel Gallagher via a press release. “We got as far as the first track before we couldn't be arsed anymore and gave up... it does sound fucking mega though!”

Literally no one cares. No one. They're first two albums were good, but nobody cares after that.

No one asked for this. Only person I know who would possibly be interested in this is my mate who wears nothing but Pretty Green and acts like the 90s produced nothing but quality albums.

Always really liked Be Here Now. It's overblown and pretentious but enjoyable nonetheless.

The Verve definitely isn't underrated over here since everyone and their dog enjoys them to some capacity and they're not really that britpop

Whatever (pun intended). Oasis, in my book, were the best, save for a few pesky weeds.
