Cradle Of Filth alternate album

2016-04-16 by Tunaboy45 | 22 Comments
Cradle Of Filth are set to release an alternate, previously unheard version of their 1996 album Dusk.. And Her Embrace. According to the band's Facebook page, the album is titled "The Original Sin" and will be available sometime in July via Cacophonous Records.

On top of this, Dani Filth has confirmed that the band are currently working on their follow up to 2015's Hammer Of The Witches, which was seen by many as a return to form.

"Obviously we're going to partially ignore the naysayers who want everything to sound exactly like Cradle 1996 -the never-before-released version of 'Dusk.. And Her Embrace' subtitled 'The Original Sin'(1995) is out in July via Cacophonous Records, by the way- but everything will be taken onboard, baring in mind that people understand that the band is Cradle Of Filth 2016, and one that will be expanding on the continued success of last year's 'Hammer Of The Witches'."

Not been very impressed with anything these guys have done post-godspeed, but this sounds like something I'd definitely be interested to hear. Even though I've often felt Dusk... was just a tad overrated

Hammer is the best album since their peak (Vempire-Damnation) so long may this continue.

Also unheard old stuff sounds interesting!

I told him about it in his shoutbox before posting this article, maybe that explains his absence.

Good to have you Hawks

Bookshelfed is better I reckon, should sound suitably 'dated'

It's crazy that they have additional material from that era seeing as they release Vempire and Dusk both in '96! If it's to the quality of those two releases it should be a treat.

Got the promo for the 'original' version of Dusk and Her Embrace and it is really good. Should appeal to people who's love of CoF begins with their debut and ends with Vempire. The album's production is somewhere between those two albums, and it features more of a conventional black metal growl and not the high pitched screech that is on the current Dusk release.

There are quite a few differences between these versions and what eventually ended up on Dusk. I'm going to definitely review it.

It's an insta-4 for me at the moment. There's enough differences that I'm definitely going to keep both versions of the album. Some of the songs are better here and some are still better on the albums that were released before. This album is much more guitar-oriented than the Dusk that eventually got released.
