This album is fucking awesome! Not one single weak track. The final three songs are so different and epic sounding. Definitely one of my favorite metal albums of 2015 so far.

meh
| |
well the album is technically out now so I don't really see the point of this post tbh
| |
It's incredible how the singles work better in the context of an album.
| |
--well the album is technically out now so I don't really see the point of this post tbh--
People that still buy their music are going to want to hear it first.... that doesn't really matter to those that are just going to steal it anyway.

| |
I don't understand how Regenerate was not the first single. So fucking catchy. Also, the bonus track called Enhanced Reality is amazing. I haven't liked an album this much since the latest from Scar Symmetry.

Tracks 1-7 were hit and miss, but the last three tracks are some of Fear Factory's best. They sound like a Devin Townsend collaboration. 3/5 for the first seven tracks, 4/5 for the last three, 3.5/5 seems like a fair rating.
| |
Great news, will listen to the album tomorrow.
| |
Yep I don't think there are many more obvious 3.5/5s in this world.
| |
band is a 3.5/5
| |
Truer words have never been spoken
| |
theres also a new music video for Dielectric for those of you who are interested:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osjYf8FBXbU
| |
Ah ah ah, this video is hilarious. The members of the band dislike each other so much that they were filmed appart from each other and when you see them all together they used stand-in actors except for Burton.
| |
low key kinda diggin this
| |
hmm, not really digging this one so far
| |
It's ok
| |
Mediocre as always
| |
For those looking for something different, there is always Transgression... otherwise isn't really a good thing for these guys. it would be Opeth all over again.
| |
Transgression was shit tho
| |
Transgression wasn't shit. I liked most of the songs on that album.
| |
Transgression wasn't shit [2]
| |
yeah, it was shit ¯_(ツ)_/¯
| |
It wasn't shit. There are a lot of good songs on that. The problem was that they thought it was a good idea to throw two terrible covers and Supernova onto the album. Supernova is a decent song, but it gets hate for being nothing like a Fear Factory song.
| |
you forgot the production being a problem
| |
I don't mind the production. Of course, I think it would be much better if they hadn't ditched Rhys Fulber, but it's a standard alt. metal-style production. So, still good just not as good as it could have been.
| |
Drummer kicks serious ass on the new album, for a while I though I was listening to Gene Hoglan.
| |
Yep. Programmed drums don't work for metal.
| |
^^Bands like Samael and Meshuggah are exceptions that justify the rule ;-)
And I too, didn't like the programmed drums in The Industrialist.
| |
"but it gets hate for being nothing like a Fear Factory song."
And Hate is what they'll get if they ever change from their sound.
| |
just listened to mechanize again. boy gene hoglan pummels away on that record, what a beassst.
| |
^^If he was allowed to use his hands and cymbals as proficiently as his feet, Mechanize would be a monument of organized chaos.
| |
there is an onslaught of cymbals on mechanize bro. good double bass is standart in FF's music but the arm work is what makes mechanize special for me.
| |
^^You are probably right about the cymbals, but I remember his infamous drum fills being totally absent from Mechanize.
| |
there are a few tho. just listen to industrial discipline or fear campaign. im sure there are more, far and between.
| |
--Bands like Samael and Meshuggah are exceptions that justify the rule ;-)--
When Samael started using a drum machine, they didn't even try to make it sound like a live drummer or 'metal' drums, so it was fine. In fact, I prefer it. Meshuggah used programmed drums on one album, and it wasn't the same. Even the drummer admitted it and went back to playing on the albums.
