I like it more than anything from their previous album, so that's definitely a start.
| |
This is great. Stoked!
| |
This looks exactly like the article I wrote besides the quote being present XD Still, decent song, but poopy production.
| |
kinda disappointed. song is ok tho
| |
/m/(-.-)/m/
| |
good song. thread will be filled with people having toddler tantrums because this isn't 1990 anymore
| |
zzz
| |
song plays it safe but could be a lot worse. doesn't really change my hype.
| |
'I like it more than anything from their previous album, so that's definitely a start.'
what
| |
"Cassette (limited to 500 copies worldwide)"
lol why
| |
it sounds more like new Dark Tranquility than new In Flames. that's a good start.
| |
'I like it more than anything from their previous album, so that's definitely a start.'
what[2]
it sounds like a watered-down song from SOTS, definitely worse than anything on that album
| |
doesn't sound watered down at all tbh. I don't get where the claims are coming from
| |
it's the production, but that could just be a YouTube thing. the guitars don't have much bite to them.
| |
not bad
sounds like at the gates
| |
Really good song.
| |
I'm pretty sure it's a youtube thing
the song sounds too flat like this
| |
good song but nothing too spectacular
| |
needs more shotgun noises
| |
its decent not really expecting the best thing ever from this
| |
GREEEEEEEAAAAT!
| |
Decent enough but this just sounds like Slaughter of the Soul II which they specifically said they were *not* going to make, so meh. Lindberg sounds great though
| |
Good song, reminds me of Terminal Spirit Disease.
| |
It was awesome until the vocals came in.
| |
Decent track.
| |
This looks exactly like the article I wrote besides the quote being present XD Still, decent song, but poopy production. I never saw your article. Sorry.
'I like it more than anything from their previous album, so that's definitely a start.'
what I didn't like their Slayer goes Gothenburg sound all that much.
Good song, reminds me of Terminal Spirit Disease.
With Fear is the best and Terminal is close. If we can get something like that, I'll be happy.
| |
I'm liking it so far. Just going to have to wait for the album.
| |
I like Slaughter Of The Soul too, the memories from this album...
| |
Catchy stuff.
| |
shit rules
| |
STOKED
| |
Song rules. Sounds like At the Gates. Production sounds fine to me.
| |
I can dig it.
| |
Nothing mindblowing, but it's definitely a nice track.
| |
sure sounds like at the gates
| |
Not terrible. Just sounds kinda generic.
| |
song had the most generic death metal drums ever. other than that it was decent, maybe even good
| |
Not a fan of it at all
| |
The tempo could've been faster like their older stuff and though the vocals arent bad they just dont really sound like the old lindberg. But good song overall, i dont see this being aoty, but im still looking forward to it.
| |
solid
| |
Vocals are solid and so is the song.
| |
Pretty great, if you ask me.
| |
Pedro that comment had me in tears
| |
gonna be a 3.3
| |
3.5
| |
decent
| |
This >>>>>>>> Siren Charms
| |
I think the issue with the vocals is that they don't seem to be mixed in well with the rest of the instruments. It's like they're too far back in the mix or something. Lindberg is one of the more distinct melodeath vocalists, and it seems odd that he's fighting for breath with the guitar lines. Otherwise it's a decent track, but the mix-down has me scratching my head.
| |
ffs havent you guys realized that youtube dumbs down bitrate quality substantially yet
| |
I'm waiting for the real thing before I pass judgment. it sounds pretty good anyway.
| |
pretty boring
| |
wags decently hard
I hate the bass drum and snare tone but whatev
| |
I hate the bass drum and snare tone but whatev
Yeah. I was kinda hoping for a more organic production, but it's whatever.
Atheist's comeback album had a modern production, and it was still really nice.
| |
People will find a reason to complain and bitch about ANYTHING.. "the snare tone is #$%#$, it's not FAST enough, productions if off?"... Jesus H. Fuck
| |
I have standards sorry
| |
This sounds pretty similar to what Unearth have been doing for quite some time. Obviously Unearth aped a little of what At the Gates did from the beginning but still...this isn't really anything out of the ordinary, still not a bad song.
| |
song vapes
| |
Sounds kinda like Terminal Spirit disease-era. Not bad, but they can do way better.
| |
I've been waiting for this day. It's def. solid. Can't wait to hear more from the album
| |
The anticipation and these guys' legacy is just too much. There are some people that are going to find something/anything to bitch about just so they can.
| |
My ears must be broke, because that song was lame.
| |
Not bad but doesn't compare to Slaughter....
| |
It's fair. I'm not impressed like I was with SotS. Granted, like others have pointed out, it's far from the 90's now, but I do feel the production dulls the impact of the music, reminds me of how the re-release of Ecliptica is shaping up, compared to the original version. Except where I can more easily forgive Sonata Arctica since their music generally gravitates towards melody, symphonics and the like, At the Gates left us with a dominant, aggressive feel to their music. This, though relatively enjoyable, doesn't leave much of an impression. The rest of the album might end up being better, but my expectations are at a modest point right now.
| |
Ceiling is Carcass. Floor is The Haunted. I'd wager it'll end up at 3.5-3.7 when all's said and done. I'd be satisfied with the high end of that.
| |
If your house is built from once amazing Swedish metal bands still trying to stay relevant in 2014 , I'd rather be the Floor as The Haunted then the basement as In Flames.

I'd rather be the Floor as The Haunted then the basement as In Flames. [23456789]
| |
Song is alright, but not very deep or memorable tbh
| |
But truly - this being as good as SOTS isn't as important as it simply being true melodeath. that leaves us with ATG and DT staying true and only In Flames going gay
| |
Let's not forget that Soilwork made a hell of a comeback
| |
Solid.
